Checked in for dessert. Stinky Tofu - Man did they put the stank on that stink. Way too stinky for me, you can breath, taste, and feel that stank! Popcorn Chicken - Awesome. Shaved Ice - Awesome. Authentic in every way from the texture, form, color, and flavor. Customer service was good and attentive. Would definitely go back.

This place is tiny compared to other class 302 I've been to. When my friends and I walked in, we were suffocated by the mixture of smell, especially that stinking tofu lol. Anyways, we only went here coz half and half was closed on tuesdays...so we only ordered the milk teas. I got the japanese green milk tea with honeyboba and egg pudding. It was pretty good, price is good too. My order was to go and they made it pretty quick, so im happy with that. So overall, im would definitely come back for their milk teas

I used to come here all the time like 4 or 5 years ago, before the hype and this place blew up, because Class 302 has the best shaved snow that I had tasted anywhere. I loved their shaved snow. It was nice and fluffy and had just the right amount of flavor without being too sweet. Then this place blew up and wait times exceeded an hour because the place was so small and I stopped coming as often. The last time I was here before just recently had to have been 2 years ago. In the meantime while I was not coming here, I was trying shaved snow at other places and it was just not as good. I held Class 302 to the standard of what shaved snow should be like. Then I came back here recently and noticed many changes. They redid the place a bit, do not get too excited. It is still ridiculously small and cramped. I am hoping they buy up the space next door and expand. It is currently empty and out for lease. We did not have to wait too long, about 10 minutes for the three of us at 8:30 on a Friday night. They expanded the menu and added a lot more drinks. I feel like they are trying to focus more on drinks now rather than food and shaved snow. I have had their food before and did not remember it being quite remarkable. Their menus changed too. They have a lot more options now and the menu is way more extensive than I remembered. I flipped to the shaved snow and noticed a bunch of shaved snow combos. Well that is new, I do not like my shaved snow all fancied out like the combos so my best friends and I just elected to create our own shaved snow. We chose the milk snow with Mochi, strawberry, mango, almond tofu and Carmel egg pudding. It was then that I noticed the price tag on the shaved snow...$8.95??? Was it always that expensive?? I do not remember it being that expensive. I did some research and it used to be like $6.50, $7 ish. That was the price I remembered. Anyways, the snow is still relatively the same. Best shaved snow texture ever, still soft and fluffy and perfectly shaved. The strawberry's were on the sour side but the mangos were sweet. I really liked the mangos. We got it without condensed milk because we did not want to add another topping and it tasted fine without it because we did not want it to be too sweet. However, I have to say, condensed milk makes a difference. Get the condensed milk, it enhances the shaved snow. The Mochi was good, they were giant though and I wish they put more. The almond tofu tasted like the boxed almond dessert tofu you can get at any Asian supermarket but I like it, so no complaints. The Carmel egg pudding was good, no complaints either. Service, now this is an interesting topic, everyone complains about the service here. In my opinion, their service actually got better from before. I remember one time I came here, I was basically ignored because they were so busy. I accidentally left my phone on the table and the waitress alerted me. I thought that was nice of her. I gave it 3 stars just because I remembered it being better, chances are I will definitely be back because I, and everyone I know, pretty much love this place.

Honestly, this store makes me want to come less and less and less. Foods great, but check the service. 1.) Waitresses are rude and impatient. I understand you're probably tired from walking around in a cramped store, it doesn't mean you can roll your eyes at us and ignore our table when we called like 10+ times. Their attitudes are BAD and they get ticked off if you take just 1 second longer looking at the menu. Oops, next time I better memorize the menu before I come. 2.) What is up with the freaking pay $9+ to sit in the booth??!?! So apparently customers who pay more than $9+ are better than those who don't? We order a shaved snow which with tax ended up to be $8. something. but ended up having to order 3 more items because of their stupid rule. basically just threw a menu at us after moving tables. What we ordered: Mango Mochi Shaved Snow- 4/5-This was pretty good. Like all of their shaved snow, the snow is super soft and melts in your mouth. The mango was okay~ kind of sour and hard, and the mochi was NOT good. It was a flavorless, large kochi. But overall, their shaved snow is good. Hot Grass Jelly with Honey Boba, Milk (Cream), and Red Bean- 4.5/5- *highly recommended* This was REALLY good. Its a hot dish, so its served warm and the red bean tastes so good with it. The bad thing is that it must be eaten on the spot. If your take it home, or if it gets cold then it tastes bad...especially the boba because it hardens after a few hours. Iced Milk with Strawberry and Honey Boba- 1.5/5- This drink was sour? The strawberry DOES NOT taste good and the honey boba was not up to expectations! Just go to Half&Half for the same... but BETTER. Iced Milk with Matcha and Honey Boba- 3/5- This was okay, the matcha flavor really helped the whole flavor. The honey boba still was good, but overall it tasted okay. Customer service and seating sucks, but the food here is really good. Can't help but come back. Next time...I'm ordering to go for sure. Save myself the wait and the terrible service.

This place is really small n the wait time can be quite long...I've only had their green tea shaved ice topped with red beans before...It was good, not exactly sure if it's worth the wait though :P

Boyfriend loves this place for their rice dishes. It has a little bit of everything. I don't mind it every now and then as the food doesn't really stand out. It's not especially great, but it's not bad either. This particular location is extremely tiny. The tables are so close to one another and can make one feel claustrophic at times. Sometimes, I feel so bad that I have to squeeze my body between tables to get in and out of my seat. It's quite similar to the movie theater experience where you choose to have your stomach or buttocks meet the face of a stranger--very uncomfortable. Even so, this isn't a bad place to try if you are in the area.

The famous Taiwanese Shaved Ice Place..... I use the word "famous" very loosely. The place is located in a large plaza with other Asian eateries and markets. They have a good location right at the corner facing Nogales Street. NOTE! The restaurant is TINY!!!! Be prepared to experience a super crowded place. I've always heard that there are lines of people which in my mind is a good thing that they have so many dedicated patrons. However, if they want to have continuing patrons, they need to change some things up. First off, the service is non existent. You're not allowed to order until you have a table and with the maybe 9 cramped tables in the restaurant, good luck. My friends and I ended up sitting in the heat outside with no shade. I wasn't the only one that noticed the cramped seating because when I was there a Fire Marshall was there too looking for the manager. I could overhear that the restaurant wasn't compliant to code. As a new person dining here that's not the best thing you want to hear. We all shared the Red Bean Green Tea and will say this was the only that saved this review from an utter failure! I've never had this shaved desert before and for those who don't know what it is, the dessert is like a frozen block of ice cream and thinly sliced into pieces with condensed milk, and toppings. I really liked it and be warned that this is a SHARED dessert! In addition to the horrible service and lack of seating, what really made me wince at this place was the end of our dessert. What I mean is that when I went back inside to pay, I gave a $10 bill for about a $8 tab. She took me $10 and with no hesitation just took the whole bill without giving me the option of tipping. Mind you, I would've given her the change BUT to not even give the customer the option of tipping??? RIDICULOUS! Mind you, I didn't even think they deserved the tipped anyway. Also, it's cash only... What really irked me was how they were doing business with the cramped tables, cash only, and the presence of the fire marshall??? Class 302 really needs to step up their game. Implement outdoor seating!

I'm a little late reviewing this place considering it's been on the map for quite some time, but I'll keep my review in line with how I see Class 302: short and sweet. The place is small, and it's incredibly cramped. Throw in as many tables as you can possibly squeeze into said small space, and it leaves barely enough room for anyone to squeeze by. The tables are sticky, and the staff quickly wipe it down with a damp towel once before the next party is sat; even if you subscribe to the 5 second rule, make an exception here. If you're not a fan of stinky tofu, prepare to hold your breath or sit outside. Most importantly, pass on the drinks and stick with the shaved snow. An order of shaved snow for ~$7 is enough to share between 3-4 adults. Drinks are rather pricey given its quality; all I get is a mouthful of sugar (think Half and Half but even sweeter~ HELLOOOOO DIABETES!). CASH ONLY. The beginning pages of the menu outlines a number of rules including the $3/person minimum, 1.5 hour maximum stay on weekends, 2 hour maximum stay on weekdays, and a 15% automatic gratuity for larger parties. The service was perhaps the most unattractive part of eating at 302 along with the typical long waits during peak hours.

I'm in love with the shaved snow. The only downside is the waiting to be seated. I recommend coming once they're open because around the late afternoon/night time, it gets crowded. CASH ONLY

I was craving dessert on a rainy evening in SoCal, and my cousin Adrian D. suggested this place. I love shaved ice and we've already tried Guppy's so I decided to give this place a shot. Small little cafe themed like a little classroom. The tables are desks and the menu is kind of like a chalkboard. Cute. We decided to order the Create Your Own shaved ice for $8.95. We chose the Milk Snow and chose strawberries, mangoes, mochi, and condensed milk as our toppings. I thought the Milk Snow was okay... someone lacked flavor but then again it is milk. It was a great portion yet there was a lack of toppings. The mochi was not the typical mochi I expected either, it was literally like the mochi balls you buy at Asian stores. I've tasted better shaved ice at Sno-Crave or Guppy's. Super peeved because I literally tried staring down the two waitresses who were chatting their lives away to hurry up and take our order because I was kind of on a time restraint. Probably took more than 5 minutes for us to get their attention. Mind you, it wasn't super crowded in there either. After delivering our food, they never paid attention to us again and I learned my lesson so didn't even bother asking for the bill and went straight up to the cashier to pay.

Stood right in front of the register to order and wasn't even acknowledged for at least 5 minutes. We had to ask if we could order and when we did, she wasn't even paying attention. Both workers who worked the front desk were completely rude.

I've been here a few times now and after each visit, I always think back and find the food to be ... on par. Not above par, but not below par either. This is the first location of Class 302, and is quite small, with maybe about 12 tables inside and 4 to 5 tables outside. The tables inside are the wooden school desks that people used to use, and while its a cute concept, they don't seem to be very clean. I've tried their beef noodle soup as well as the railroad porkchop rice. Wasn't blown away, but it wasn't that bad either. I liked the porkchop rice because of the way it was served (cute container of the cabbage, egg etc. on top with the rice, porkchop and picked veggies on the bottom). The porkchop was a bit too fat the both times I tried this dish. The beef noodle soup didn't have enough flavor in the broth, and not enough beef in the soup. Also tried their popcorn chicken. Mostly batter, not enough chicken. Their drinks are below par, I have to say. Not very good, not worth it. As for the shaved snow. I heard really good things about this place, but I wasn't able to visit this location until after the Irvine one had already opened. And the Irvine Class 302 has this really good pudding, boba and caramel shaved snow that this one ... sadly, does not have. So at the Irvine location, there's boba, egg pudding and jasmine pudding with the shaved snow and condensed milk and caramel. Absolutely mind blowing, hands down my favorite out of favoritest shaved snows everywhere. So I was expecting that when I came to the Rowland Heights. They only have caramel pudding shaved snow! It's good, but no boba combination unless you ask them, which probably costs a dollar etc. more. And no jasmine pudding either. The shaved snow is good, but there isn't enough of a wow factor and after a few spoonfuls of the snow, I just get tired of it and end up bringing it back home to my mom. Cash only. An okay place to eat if you're in the mood for Taiwanese food or shaved snow, but it's not awesome. There are better places to eat shaved snow around the SGV area, so I probably would not drive out to Rowland Heights just for Class 302.

If I was ever incarcerated and sentenced to death, hands down my last meal would be a giant cup of taro milk tea w/boba and a platter of shaved ice from Class 302. No joke, the shaved ice here is as good as all the reviews claim. A rarity in my opinion. With wait times spanning up to an hour or more, your taste buds will be well rewarded for all your turmoil and efforts. Especially after waiting in the hot sun. Green tea shaved ice with mango, mochi, and condensed milk is what I tend to get and it's never failed me yet. For roughly $6, you get a large enough serving to split between 2-3 people, but really I could probably have one all to myself. Hot food items have been pretty good as well. Taiwanese sausage over rice, BBQ corn, and pork chop noodle soup...none have disappointed. As with many Asian establishments, the main area Class 302 can work on is in the customer service department. But to get my hands on some of that shaved ice, I don't mind dealing with a few rude servers here and there. 4 stars.

A friend brought me here 2 years ago and I've never been able to forget their mango shaved snow ice. Can't get this kinda good eats in NY area. Their hot snacks and entrees are good too. But I main came back for the desserts.

5 stars to their mango shaved snow ice!! It's my must visit dessert place every time I visit L.A cuz their mango snow ice is very addicting. I had tried few snow flake ice stores in Taiwan and class 302 beat them all!! I had some other flavors like milk snow flake ice w read bean and mochi and I still like mango one the most. Mango ice is very flavorful, but not too sweet. Mango topping is fresh and taste perfect with mochi and condensed milk. We also had pork chop bento box, it's not too bad but it's more common like home cooking. One more thing I really like is the school theme, it brought me back lots of childhood memories.

Came by here last Saturday night with my husband and 2 good friends for some shaved ice. I got a number right away for a table of four and only waited less than 10 minutes. I was number 51 and so after the girl called out number 48, 49 and 50 with no- shows, I told her I was 51. Anyways, she didn't say anything and turned around with menu's and walked towards the back of the tiny restaurant towards some clean tables. Shortly after my husband and I sat down (my 2 friends arrived 5 minutes after this occurred) the server who sat us down told us we had to move to another table that was saved for 4 because I guess they wanted to combine these tables back here to seat 6 or 8. It was kind of rude the way she tried to get rid of us and it made me feel a bit odd because she had never said anything to us before that and if someone calls your number and walks towards a table with menu's, you would think they are escorting you and your party to the designated table... well apparently not here. Anyways, after we got seated at another table with menus, we got our order taken down probably 10 minutes thereafter. My husband and I ordered the pick 5 items for the customize shaved ice ($6.50 prior to tax and tip). We got our shaved ice with condensed milk, almond tofu jello, strawberry jam, red bean, taro. Our order came out pretty quick (but then again, it doesn't really take that long to put shaved ice together) and were given 4 bowls with plastic spoons to share with each person at the table. Our 2 friends also got the pick 5 items (with taro, rice cake, taro. condensed milk and I don't recall the other item). I think everyone was in agreement that they enjoyed the shaved ice. My husband was disappointed though with the strawberry jam because he was hoping that there would be pieces of strawberries in it (which it did not have). Service was definitely lacking much to be desired (but that is expected at a Chinese place). The place definitely smelled of rotten garbage (blame that on the stinky tofu... I really have a love/ hate relationship with it) that is hard to get used to during the time you are here. Overall, had a nice experience here, but could have been better if this place wasn't a CASH ONLY place and if the service was a little bit more attentive and friendlier. (By the way, there is outdoor seating, which did not have that stinky tofu smell)). Also if the place wasn't nearly as cramped (I definitely prefer the location in Cerritos much better).

My description of "Stinky Tofu"- fried tofu flavored with the aroma of drainage water melted from the seafood section of 99 Ranch on a hot day. -____- These are one of those cafe spots you consider going to only after you've already eaten someplace else. Food: Although they have a full menu, Class 302 is popular for their awesome shaved snow. The "snow" is very soft, literally melting in your mouth in seconds.. sort of a hybrid between shaved ice and icecream. They have different combinations of snow and toppings that you can choose from, or custom make your own concoction for a few dollars more.. with toppings like: fruit, boba, red bean, jelly, chocolate syrup, etc. All of their special combinations that I've tried have been damn good. I especially enjoyed the Green Tea flavored snow with anything mixed in it.. that green tea flavor is very bright and rich. I haven't really tried any of the food there except for the time we were brave enough to try the "stinky" tofu.. grossest thing I've ever eaten. I couldn't swallow one bite of it.. but you have to try it for yourself because some people actually enjoy it. Their drinks come in gigantic portions but have been a little bit disappointing. A friend ordered the Watermelon Tea once but there was no hint of watermelon.. it was more of melted aloe jelly with boba. Weird.. Ambiance: An extremely small space, with even smaller furniture. They continue the theme of a school classroom with small chairs and desks except only being able to accommodate half of the class. It's always going to be a lively environment.. small groups of friends enjoying some sweets. Service: Terrible! The employees here are always cold and rude. They're always rushing with everything and when we need something, it's like they get mad!? When we asked if the Watermelon drink was correct, they got annoyed and wouldn't let us change it. Surprised? not really.. Tips: Cash only! Don't come if you have a large party cause there's no space! On weekend nights, expect to wait a while to be seated. Try as many combinations of the shaved snow, especially the green tea snow!

This place is so horrible with service!!!! One of the guy actually roll his eyes at my family when we talk to him! I would NEVER EVER GO TO THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN! Ps if yelp have a negative star I would totally give it to this stupid place!

Probably one of the best places for shaved snow. Something about it keeps us coming back once in awhile if we're in the area. It's different from most places that serve shaved ice, where the shaved snow is almost creamy like, almost imitating ice cream. The place itself is really small. I heard the concept of this cafe is to make it like a classroom but it's hard to tell. There's very little seating so beware if you have a big group with you. The cafe floor itself seems unkept, a little unorganized, and for that much seating I feel they should fix their furniture. I feel like all the chairs rock and wobble. I haven't tried the food, but I hear it's not that great. Every time I come here it's 95% for the shaved snow. That in itself deserves it's own star rating. The service wasn't alright, nothing to brag about. A bit rude, but no surprise there. They were quick when we had a chance to flag them down. I totally recommend the shaved snow if you haven't tried it before!

First of all, i've been coming here for years. The bad service has never really bothered me before but today was an exception. I understand that there are only two people to serve you, fine. I understand that Class 302 is limited in space, fine. But insulting your customers is never acceptable. You can read other reviews and they'll say the same: the service here is horrible. Forgotten orders, rudeness, etc. My mom and I came in today to enjoy some shaved snow but found ourselves sitting 20 minutes for service. After I was fed up with the waitress helping people who had come in after us, I pointed it out to her that we would like to look at a menu. She gives us this ridiculous look like we're asking her for the key to the register! Then she goes on to say "Well, you shouldn't have sat down, we needed to clean the table". Oh hell to the no. First of all, there was no one in front of us, so if we see a clean table, we'll sit down as we do in ANY TAIWANESE-STYLE restaurant. And second of all, if we needed to be seated, you could have told us so and we would have stood up and waited by the door for you to clean the table (which, as I mentioned before, was already cleaned- I'm not going to seat myself at some filth hole with empty plates and spills on the table). What bothers me most is that she said this because it makes evident that she knew we were sitting there and still decided to serve others who came in after us. Okay so this was over, then I asked her for a menu which SHE STILL WOULDN'T GIVE. Then she called us rude customers for seating ourselves. Seriously? I know this isn't a high-end restaurant but it certainly is not some street corner in downtown L.A. and I am not paying to be spoken to like a child. I work as a barista so I know that customers can get rude/antsy/whatever, but you don't serve them like she served (or didn't serve) us. And the food is fine. The shaved ice is comparable to the ones in Taiwan but the food on the menu is mediocre.

The Shave Ice cream is really good. The parking is horrible and it takes 15 minutes to place an order and another 15 to receive it and that was a take out order! its somewhat of a hassle just to have some shaved Ice cream.

This place was disappointing. I came here based on the number of Yelp reviews. I came here for dessert and ordered the green tea and red bean shave ice. I was really expecting more. I ate a few bites and threw it away. Kinda gross. Over-hyped dessert place. I would not come here again.

I still stand by my statement in my first review of Class 302- Nothing can make me drool while feeling oddly nostalgic like the bbq stinky tofu at Class 302! Went to dinner last night at Class 302 and since this restaurant recently underwent a makeover, I decided it was time for a review update. Class 302 has always been one of my favorite places to get Taiwanese food in the area. Even after many years, this place remains a popular attraction so you have to time your visits strategically. Yesterday on a Monday night at 7:30pm, this place was packed, probably because of the holiday season. For a party of 2, we had to wait for over an hour and wasn't seated until 8:45pm. With the parking lot undergoing construction, you have to also drive extra carefully. The newly renovated restaurant is cleaner and brighter. They got new "classroom style" tables that now feel less sticky and more clean for germ-a-phobes like me. Also, they put in a booth style seating along the back wall and moved the cash register from right next to the door where it was before to next to the kitchen to make it easier for people to pay for to-go orders. Overall though, the restaurant is still teeny tiny, so I don't think this new arrangement really increased the number of seats available. I was actually seated in this odd two seater next to the bathroom, and had my legs squished by the side of the table. After waiting for an hour though, I didn't care, I just wanted to sit down and get my food. **Changes to the Menu****** Note that you can no longer pick 2 items to make a bento order. Before you could pick 2 for a "second grade bento" or stay with 1 item for a "first grade bento." Now, you can only pick one item, with the exception of the chicken roll and sausage that are grouped together. Also, the drinks now are BIG. Some updates include the iced milk drink, and they're using the wide halfhalf style cups. Another change is now the noodle soups are being served in big wide bowls instead of the smaller bowls from before so larger portion size just for noodle soups. ****************************** We got an order of the grilled corn and grilled stinky tofu. Two items I love on their menu. I had the vermicelli noodle with mushroom beef soup, and my +1 had their chicken roll and sausage bento. Although the food is still as good as it was before, for some reason my experience last night was just not as good. Service was slow, the seating arrangement at the table I was at felt like I was being squished into the wall, and the wait on a cold Monday night was just awful. Although I thought the renovation would either offer more seating, speed up service, or maybe offer something new on the menu, it didn't really change anything which could either be a good or bad thing. There's still a soft spot in my heart for stinky tofu, but with many other establishments in the area now offering the same type of food, I'm less inclined to brave the wait for Class 302.

I loove shaved snow and I've had it at a plethora of places. I'd say Class 302 makes top 3! The snow is not too sweet, and topping compliment it perfectly. I've tried original, mango, and green tea, and I'd say all are very good. What I order just depends on my mood. Me and my bf's absolute fave topping is the mochi! It's big and chewy, and also slightly sweet. Milk pudding is good too. The reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is that more often than not they're out of some topping which is annoying...get it together!! I've worked at a restaurant that also required fruit/dessert items and we were never out of stock so i really think there's no excuse. I almost always get takeout from here because the space in there is cramped as heck

In my one experience at the Rowland Heights location of Class 302, three things stuck out to me: awesome shaved snow, awfully disorganized orders, and awful service. To begin, I ordered the Oreo Coffee Latte Shaved Snow to-go. After about ten minutes of waiting with my friends outside, one of the servers came to inform me that they had ran out of latte shaved snow. I was about to switch my order to the Berry Shaved Snow, when they tell me that they also ran out of strawberry shaved snow. This was completely puzzling to me as I looked around the restaurant and saw people with a variety of flavored shaved snow. Were these customers the reason they ran out of all of the flavors? Did they fail to take inventory that day? I finally decided to stick with my original order with the latte snow substituted for milk snow. I waited for another twenty minutes watching each of my friends receive their orders before I went into the restaurant. It turns out I had to go into the restaurant to pick up my to-go order. This was fairly confusing to me as every other to-go order was being taken outside to each customer. While I had waited in line to retrieve my order, the servers treated me as more of an obstacle than an actual patron. You read that correctly: they forced me to change my order, took a long enough time for me to walk into the restaurant to see why I wasn't getting my order, and suddenly I am the inconvenience. After reading other reviews here, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with a poor experience with their customer service. In addition to a standard (yet cumbersome) cash only policy, you also have to pay $3.00 per person for the right to sit at one of their tables. Why??? Rowland Heights' Class 302 isn't a fancy high-end diner selling extraordinary atmosphere. It's a standard Asian cuisine tea house with a few specialty desserts. This policy just seems like a cheap way to squeeze extra cash from the pockets of customers who are trying to support this establishment. Despite the poor service and questionable policies, my Oreo (Non)Coffee (Non)Latte Shaved Snow was very delicious. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I'll ever be trying their version with all 3 of its intended 3 ingredients. My first visit to Rowland Heights' Class 302 will be my last. If you are craving shaved snow, please go another Class 302 location. This one does NOT deserve your hard-earned money.

This place has been all the hype for the past few years... and I finally gave it a try. They have a huge menu of your typical taiwanese fare. We tried the grilled chicken lunch box which turned out to be surprisingly delicious. Grilled chicken??? Yeah. They tenderize the chicken to a point where it's impossible to overcook. It's melt in your mouth grilled chicken almost. I can't even describe it to you. But it's good, and flavorful. And you get a LOT of food for one order. The shaved snow... well, I don't know ANYONE who doesn't enjoy shaved snow. Class 302 is one of the firsts so they have a huge reputation to live up to. They did not disappoint. We ordered a huge bowl of perfectly shaved snow covered in mango and drizzled with condensed milk for $6.50. Yum. 2 thumbs up for food and 2 thumbs up for dessert.

Luckily didn't have to wait long on a Sunday. Ordered number 7, which is green tea snowy. It comes with red bean, mochi, condensed milk, and a surprise possibly vanilla pudding in the middle. The snowy is smooth and flavor was not watered down. Almond milk tea was flavorful and not too sweet. The servers were accommodating when we requested for a table inside since someone started to smoke outside. Service was relatively quick even though they were busy. There is a minimum charge of $3 dollars per person and an automatic 15% gratuity for groups 5 and more.

Only thing good here the shaved ice. Oyster omelet sauce is terrible, sour and totally unlike Taiwanese oyster omelet. The chef probably never had a real oyster omelet before or they just don't care for it. I am an oyster omelet lover and had always finished the omelet whether good or bad, but this one was so bad I didn't even eat half. The pork rib rice is soggy and distasteful. We also had stinky tofu to go and they forgot the sauce. That's when my neighbor told me last time they forgot to sauce to 炸醬麵, "fried sauce noodles"。That means all they got is noodle. SERIOUSLY~~~~

Really LOVE LOVE LOVE the Mango Snow! It's refreshing and addicting. I have tried other shaved snows but don't like it as much as the mango flavored one. One downer is the small space. Also just to let you know if you are faint to smell, beware people enjoy stinky tofu there and eat it there! CASH ONLY! (fyi)

Great Asian shaved ice! I have not tried their food but the shaved ice is where it's at here. For about $6 you get the main flavor of the ice and about 5 topping. This can serve 3 people easily. The green tea ice is my favorite flavor and the red beans is one of my favorite toppings. But you can choose from mochi, strawberries, condenced milk, etc... The decor is set like a elementary classroom; chairs, tables, chalkboards, and the waitresses are dressed like Asian schoolgirls. I am 6 foot and 2 inches tall and it's a bit hard to get in or out of the tables. But once I am in I am good. Very small place so you might wait for awhile and CASH ONLY!!! But good service. The food looks good and smells great so I really have to try that.

Decent food. Horrible service. Two of my friends and I came here after studying, & decided to order some shave ice. One of the waiters came by and took our order for the table. My friend mispoke and ordered something that wasn't even on the menu. The waiter wrote down the closest thing to what she ordered and gave it to us. Upon seeing the incorrect shaved ice, my friends and I informed the waiter this wasn't what we ordered. He took a look and his food ticket and told me it was what we ordered. I politely told him we must have made a mistake because we did not order that. The waiter was relentless, telling us there was nothing he could do because we already received the food. My friends and I did not even touch the shaved ice, but he insisted he could not do anything. Really bad service.

Best snow ice in town. Mediocre food at best. Worst service in both attitude and speed.

Say goodby to Hawaiian shaved ice and hello to 302! Had the strawberry mango ice with my wife and we reduced the mountain of ribbon ice to nothing in no time. We will be back to take on the caramel pudding. Mmmmh

Their shaved ice took a while to be made and there were maybe 3 other people who already had their shaved ice. The taste didn't go up to the expectation people threw. Their food smelled like stinky tofu... Or that horrible smell that people with tonsil stones have. I was disgusted by it because a couple of orders we had was not supposed to come with stinky tofu but this place sure loves it for some reason. And the service was not the greatest. Meh.

Been wanting to try this place for a long time, but every time I come there is always a huge crowd. I don't like waiting so I finally came back today and there was no crowd during lunch. The place is pretty small inside with school desks as their tables. What we got: Popcorn Chicken w/ Basil ($4): nothing special about it. Not as crispy as I would have liked it to be. Has that chicken and salty taste so yeah, it's still not bad though. Black Bean Noodles ($6): first time having this so I have nothing to compare it to. It looked good, but just tasted okay to me. The noodles were a bit hard and the sauce was watery...I don't know if it was suppose to be like that so yeah. Strawberry & Mango Shaved Snow ($6.50): first time having shaved snow as well and honestly...I don't see anything special about it. Pencil like shaving was interesting, the strawberries and mango were sweet, but I mean I wasn't wowed by it. It didn't melt in my mouth, but instead just stuck to the roof of my mouth. Service: Nothing special about the service either. They weren't rude, but they weren't super friendly either. They came when we called for them. They refilled our water when it was almost empty. They cleaned up our table before they brought out our shaved snow. But still...I don't know if I would come back.

Ehh. Their shaved snow is nothing special. Nor are their drinks. I like the irvine location much, much better. 3 stars for the crispy tofu with garlic sauce though. I'm not saying class 302 is bad - it's not. BUT when you're in an area with as much competition as Rowland Heights, you really need to step up your game.

We definitely need a place like this in San Diego. Someone would be cashing in right now if they opened up a place down there. The texture of the snowy ice is more like flakey and fluffy. Also, kinda has a milky element to it but I am not saying it's milk. It's not the type of shaved ice texture you get from like Hawaiian shaved ice. I am not even sure how they get this kind of texture and from what kind of block of ice. The texture does look like layers of actual shavings. I have had the mango strawberry flavor and also tried the green tea shaved ice. I have to say I am more of a fan of the fruit ones. Love the condense milk. This i something that can be easily split with three-four friends. I would like to add though it always has a weird smell to it. Musty mixed with chemical. I can't really explain so if you are not sensitive to the odd odor then you can sit inside. This place can get packed as the weather gets warmer so be prepared for a wait. There is outside patio seating. Also, they only take cash. The parking lot is shared with the market too.

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS LOUSY...NOT WORTH THE TIME! Went Wednesday 7/29/15 mid morning when it wasn't too busy. First, hostess (young female) demanded that each person must order $3 minimum inorder to get seated inside, we replied not a problem since there were 4 of us. We ordered 2 large shaved ice. Then, I served myself water since nobody was around. The hostess came to my table rudely takes the pitcher of water away....OMG just for water she was upset that I helped myself? I replied "nobody was around so I helped myself". She was not happy, clearly showed in her UGLY face! Because of her rudeness, we did NOT tip which made her even more mad....wow she had the nerve! A few minutes later, I called to speak to a manager but she answered the phone. I told her exactly how I felt...I will never come back nor recommend the place! Her response "that's fine" Hahahaha This is the first time I have ever encountered rudeness. Young person like her doesn't belong in a business serving customers.

After a big dim sum meal, i didn't think i could eat another bite. Well it turns out I was wrong. Two large bowls of shaved ice wrong. MANGO STRAWBERRY SHAVED ICE Just like the name, those are the ingredients. The shaved ice is bomb. There is also condensed milk drizzled over everything. Gets two medals. GREEN TEA RED BEAN MOCHI SHAVED ICE The green tea shaved ice is so good. Add gigantic chunks of mochi [i mean big chunks], condensed milk again, and you have a winner dish. Oh, and the beautiful irony of ordering the following: HOT WATER Goes so perfect with the icy water dish that you just paid $7 for. SEATING The have the COOLEST tables and chairs. It is like super old school chinese tea tables in the park. Thick wooden short tables. I need to get this furniture.

Double check your orders for to-go. I ordered a box of egg rolls. They missed 3 egg rolls in my box. I shouldn't have to double check my order for a to-go. Service was slow. The food was mediocre. There isn't anything special about their noodle soup. I ordered the pork cutlet noodle soup. The pork was pretty good, but dry. It was marinated pretty well- salty and most likely soy sauce. I probably wouldn't order this the next time I go. Ended with shaved ice. Got the honey boba shaved ice. It was pretty good. The boba was good. My favorite was the grass jelly. Very flavorful and on the classic side instead of being too sweet as with other stores.

3.5 First time having shaved snow and it was really good! Creamy and flavorful...a very efficient version of shaved ice! I ordered a few toppings - mochi, passion jelly, condensed milk. The mochi was HUGE...didn't really care of that. The passion jelly was great, but all concentrated on one side so I had to dig and dig through the mountain of snow to finally get to it. Service was decent. Beware people order stinky tofu a lot so you may be getting whiffs of it from time to time.

Not exactly sure what makes this place "Taiwanese" besides maybe some of the dishes they offer, but this place is most popular for their shaved snow and ice. Shaved snow/ice seems pretty hard to mess up and this place does it almost perfectly. Me and my gf got their most popular: mango and strawberry shaved ice. This is a HUGE serving and is definitely more than enough for two people. Shaved ice was really fine and collapsed on it's own if you pushed down on it too much. Mango tasted great and wasn't frozen but the strawberries were just a little too tart (maybe b/c it was out of season?). We ordered extra condensed milk which was a great idea and drizzled that all over. It can get really crowded here, even during peak times so be careful. Prices are about average for these kinda places at about 7 bucks for their shaved ice. Service is a hit or miss and you'll usually have to wave someone down.

Don't go here if you only speak English and only understand English letters. Service is very discriminatory. We were overlooked over two other parties who came in and was seated after us. I mean, they sat us but didn't take our order until the other two and a to-go order was taken. I don't care how good their shave ice is, it doesn't compensate for their crappy fcked up service!

The snow is good (4/5) but everything about the restaurant is nasty (1/5). PROS: -Shaved ice is yummy, 4/5 ($6.50 ea). The texture is enjoyable and the flavors are good. Get the strawberry, & mango flavors. Green tea if you are used to Asian red-bean flavors -Serving sizes are huge. 1 shaved ice can feed 3-4 people. But... since you the minimum charge rule, you typically have to get 2 CONS: - I'm used to dirty Asian restaurants but this is probably top 5 "dirtiest Asian places I've eaten at." This place is dirty, in a very disgusting way. Tables are not wiped properly (they are sticky) and the bathroom smells gross. Health rating outside is "B." I didn't even trust drinking the water - Place reeks of stinky tofu due to poor ventilation -Seats are super small, old, and not comfortable. I'm almost 6 feet and I barely fit in the seats. The tables & chairs are probably 15 years old and it feels like they are going to break sitting in them -Service isn't that great. We had 3 tables and we asked the server to wipe our table down. He only wiped 1 of the 3 tables. Wtf? I'm used to Asian service but c'mon. -Cash only -Long wait times Tips: -$3 minimum charge per person. (ie: if you have 5 people, you gotta spend $15)

The service really sucks, keep asking guest to stay out of the room; plus the server on counter have "perfect" math skill, give 4 spoons to 7 people, which made me feel I never took geometry before.

Came here because i heard many of my friends said it is good. but i think it is just okay. i need to wait a long time to sit and there are not much places to sit. Their designs are nice, just like a asian school classroom. The waiter dresses like a student also, even though i don't think they are student anymore.

I have lived in Rowland Heights for 12 years and it wasn't until recently I found this masterpiece in your mouth called snow at Class 302 heard from others living hundreds of miles away. The hype about the snow is real. The popularity and positive reviews are true. I came here on several occasions to try the green tea + red bean with rice cake snow and the mango with rice cake mango snow. Blew my mind every time. I had to ask if my experience was real because it was like I got to dessert heaven. For ~$7, the portions are huge. I always eat it with 3-4 other people and we get our fair share of what we want. The quality is through the roof and out of this world. I need to stop these cheesy analogies, but that's how delicious it was. Now onto other aspects of the restaurant. The wait is usually long, especially on hotter days, and can get packed at night. I had to wait more than 30 minutes once for an outside table. The interior of the restaurant is one of the worst I've seen. The restaurant is classroom themed so they have wooden chairs and desks for its seating arrangement. Cute, but it's not a good idea. Cleanliness is also not so great, and the place smells of stinky tofu. Looking through the menu disgusted me. It is an extremely old grimy piece of thing, they really need to update them. Without the famous snow here I don't think it would be in business right now. Come here to try the snow after a dinner. Get a number in line and stick with sitting outside. You feel freer. Plus there's more leg room for you to kick back and relax with a few friends.

Long wait. Shaved snow isn't so good after the first couple bites ( cause you run out of drizzle and toppings) Workers are rude and not very accommodating. Parking sucks. Pretty hot inside. Weird smell. Milk tea boba wasn't too great. LONG WAIT that is NOT worth it. I was VERY close to giving it 3 stars...but the poor service,. sub-par Milk Tea Boba and Snow that's not so great after it's halfway gone.... it' s just NOT worth it. Blockheads is WAY better. The pricing is good. a little over $6 for 3 people to share. so it's cheap. Milk tea was fair pricing. I was extremely disappointed. I live quite far...and was semi in the area (I was in Alhambra for Dim sum) so I made the drive to Class 302...NOT worth it. I should've gone to Fluff ice in Monterrey park

WHAT? This place is small. Like ridiculously small. We were probably only 10th on the list to wait for a table on a Friday...and we waited for about an hour...probably more. Great company means that we didn't realize how long we waited for a table. Concept is cool. Classroom type restaurant, but for tall people - not so comfy. I wasn't tall enough to make it uncomfortable though so it was alright for me. In addition, everything was written as if you were in class (probably a school in China with all the Chinese). We only ordered a couple of things since we had dinner before coming over to Class 302. Boba and green tea shaved ice. I ordered the iced milk with chocolate pudding, caramel and boba. It was really as good as half and half (and I literally had a HUGE craving for half and half that day which was satisfied). The green tea shaved ice was delicious. The red bean and pudding were a great additions to the snow. however the pieces of mochi are just too big. Not great since mochi gets hard when its cold. That's my only real gripe about the place...that and the wait.

This was a very different experience for me. My Chinese and Taiwanese friends suggested that we try Class 302. Having just finished finals, the last thing I was looking forward to was another class. "No, no, no, no," they said, "it's shaved snow." Shaved snow? I've had snow cones before. Crushed ice with sweet syrup on top. What's the big deal? Boy, was I wrong. Shaved snow is made with condensed milk with different toppings (strawberries, mango, chocolate, whatever). The ice reminds me of pencil shavings (in appearance, not in taste). The place was packed and I'm told that it gets very busy in the evenings where the wait can be up to 40 minutes. There was a gigantic B on the door from the health department. That was a little off-putting. There is a smell inside that I can't quite place. It's not cleaning fluid, fried fish, or anything dead, but it is noticeable and a little gross (sorry). The tables are old, wooden school desks and chairs that are rickety and are not wiped down between patrons. It's cash only and there is a $3 minimum per person. What? I'm going to try the location in Cerritos. Hopefully it's cleaner.

I've been here countless times and every time I leave satisfied. This is definitely the best place for shaved ice/snow (along with The Balcony). How do they get this type of texture?!!?!? Their shaved snow is light, fluffy, silky and topped with fresh fruits. If it is your first time here, get the Strawberry and Mango Shave Snow. This is by far their most popular one. One will be sufficient to share with 2 or more depending on how much you eat. The fresh sweet mangoes and strawberry really go along with their light, fluffy, silky shave snow. I have also tried their Green Tea and Red Bean Shave snow with Mochi. Pretty good as well. Texture is the same and you can really taste the Green Tea. The mochi is soo good too!!! However, I still prefer the Strawberry and Mango Shave Snow. I've also tried their Stinky Tofu and Beef Noodle Soup. Both were just alright. The Stinky Tofu wasn't THAT stinky. Pretty good food but not memorable. Unlike Guppy's, the shave ice/snow portions here are not as big, but it is definitely big enough to share. Also, the shave ice/snow is not being drowned in a pool of condensed milk. Its all about the quality and not quantity anyway. If you want quantity go to your freezer and scrape off all the ice and eat it. Also, it is cash only. Seating is available inside and outside. I believe if you sit inside you have to spend a minimum of like $6 per person I'm not really sure but there should be a sign outside the entrance saying that. The inside chairs and tables are pretty small, so if your are a larger person you might feel a bit crammed but it is all about the experience of sitting inside a classroom!

Besides having great shaved snow, Class 302 also has some amazing food. I've tried their beef stew noodle on a number of occasions and it's truly one of the most authentic ones in the area. It's always served piping hot, the noodles are a nice al dente texture, and the broth is super good - dark, rich, and meaty...just the way I like it! Their prices are also pretty reasonable. I definitely want to come back and try their popcorn chicken, as well as their lunch boxes (i.e. minced pork, rice, pickled veggies) soooon! Yay for good Taiwanese food in a casual environment! Now...if only they would get bigger tables and expand this particular location! It's sooo small and there's always a wait!! :(

  • James Y.

Food is great, price is reasonable. Biggest problem is it seems this restaurant is always under staff. Been here 4 times, there were always people waiting even the restaurant was not full. All 4 visits, there were only two staff out these. And they had to take orders, clean tables, making tables, serve drinks, serve dishes, cashier, and basically almost everything..... There was one visit that after I got seated, I waited at my table for 20 min and the 2 waiters just had no time to come to my table to take my order. So I ended up go to the cashier myself so the waiter can write up my order. With my 4th visit, the change should be $74.55, not sure if the waiter done it purposely or not, he only gave me $74 as change without the coins. Even it's not much, but if he was doing this on purpose for his own convenience, he was actually cheating the customer. I did not bother to ask for my change back. It was just not a happy experience. 3 out of 4 time visiting this place, I did not feel like to leave any tip. But I would've felt so bad if I done that. So I still left tips that I called sympathy tips. So if I don't mind the poor understaffing service or I just go there for take out. Then I will give it 4.5 stars.

The snow ice at Class 302 is true to the hype. It's really, really amazing and utterly life changing. Now, please allow me to edify those of you who have never had snow ice before. It is completely different from shaved ice, which is just layers of coarsely chopped ice covered in artificially colored sugar water. Snow ice, on the other hand, is in another league. First of all, it is way more fine than shaved ice and much more like actual snow. Second of all, the flavor is actually INTEGRATED INTO THE ICE ITSELF! Holy moly my eyes lit up in pure unadulterated joy at the first bite. My biggest gripe with shaved ice is that it is way too sickeningly sweet and covered with condensed milk on top and basically plain ice on the bottom. In snow ice, on the other hand, the flavor--whether it is milk or mango or something else altogether--is well distributed throughout the entire dessert. Every bite is just as good as the last b As I ate my way through LA, I tried snow ice after snow ice and class 302 was by far the best. The sweetness and flavor was just right and the ice was shaved so finely that you could pick up the soft, individual flakes with your spoon. We tried the strawberry mango flavor on milk flavored snow ice, and it was as good as everyone raves about. We also tried the mango snow ice and this was a crowd pleaser. I didn't tend to like the mochi balls at other places, and though I still didn't love the ones at class 302, they were much better than the others I tried. My only wish is that they also include boba on the snow ice. For those of you not completely familiar with taiwanese cuisine: Beware that they serve stinky tofu, which has an extremely pungent smell in case you are susceptible to smells! Sit on the outside. Also beware of long lines. There's a shopping center nearby so we got some snacks at ranch 99 as a precursor to dessert!

2 stars for food, 5 stars for shaved ice/snow: Ambiance: lol ok I know they are prob going for a casual school room vibe here with old wooden desks as tables but their chairs are super rickidy and wobbly. It's like accident-causing, lawsuit-waiting-to-happen wobbly. :/ It's high time for an update in furniture! They have indoor and outdoor seating available: 2 stars Service: pretty fast, the servers were all friendly; 5 stars Food: ugh. do NOT go here to eat the food; it's no good, I've tried their railroad pork bento, low fat pork with rice and veggies, cold noodles, beef noodle soup and they were all just bad to mediocre status: 2 stars Dessert: This is where Class 302 shines, their shaved ice/snow is soooo delicious! My favorite is the mango and strawberry shaved snow. It's silky shaved ice is flavored with condensed milk and tons of fruit, it hits the spot on a hot summer day; 5 stars If you're craving dessert stop by, you will NOT be disappointed! Eat lunch/dinner elsewhere though! ;)

I'll keep it short. - Drinks are okay. - Food is good. (Try the corn) - Snow is even better. (Why not Mango flavored?) - Service is pretty slow. - Wait is pretty long since it gets crowded. (It's like an overcrowded school in the ghetto) - Still worth it for that snow. With dem mochi balls and dat red bean.

    (4)
  • Tiffany H.

The shaved snow is really good but this place is much smaller and more ghetto than the newer one that opened in Irvine. They also have a health rating of B, so take that as you will. The texture of the snow is what really impressed me and is probably one of the best I've ever had. You absolutely cannot go wrong with mango or green tea. I also REALLY like their mochi and honey boba. Out of all the shaved snow places I've tried, I think the quality and qq-ness of their mochi is the best. But I think the toppings to snow ratio leaves something to be desired. We usually have a lot of melted snow leftover by the end...whereas at a place like Blockheads, we have the exact opposite problem. It also gets crazy crowded post-dinner on weekends, so plan accordingly.

  • Sarah J.

One of the best shaved snow places in town. Unfortunately, can't say the same about the service and the food quality. The workers are rude and unprofessional. The food portions are small and meh. I would only come here for the shaved snow. The texture is more smooth than shaved ice, and it just melts in your mouth when you eat it--amazing on hot summer days! The inside is set up like a classroom in Asia with individual small wooden tables and a black board. What I like/recommend: Strawberry mango snow ($6.50) - regular (milk?) shaved snow with fresh strawberries and mango, condensed milk and strawberry sauce. TIPS: add mochi and red bean if you want an amazing combo! Mango mochi snow ($6.50) - mango flavored shaved snow with fresh mango and mochi (bigger than the regular mochi that you would see from Yogurtland and Pinkberry, they're like 5x the size and very chewy) PROS: -great shaved snow CONS: -long waits -horrible service -small portions -not enough tables -CASH ONLY!!! TIPS: Bring a Chinese friend with you if you want better and faster service. They will treat you so much better if you know their language...I should've taken a Chinese class in college! DAMN! *Located in the same plaza as 99 ranch market!

Does the place live up to the hype?? Is the Shaved snow really that good?? The shaved snow here taste like what its called. Its not like crushed ice like some other places. We ordered the Green tea shaved snow with mango and strawberries. The combination of Green tea and shaved snow is amazing. The fruits themselves I thought tasted pretty good, not as fresh as I was hoping though. We told them to add some of that creamer and chocolate syrup. It really helped it taste sweeter since the fruit and the green tea was giving it the opposite taste. I have to say that the place itself sucks though. The space is small, the tables seem like tables for little kids and the service is not all that great. The tables are super low. You can literally have the table sit on your lap ( or maybe its just because I'm tall ha ha). What is missing from this Asian restaurant picture?? CASH ONLY! Please do remember to bring cash with you before you make the mistake my friend made and forget to. He comes here often enough where I asked him " HOW THE HELL YOU FORGET ITS CASH ONLY????""" Had to leave his girlfriend as collateral until we came back from the ATM machine at the gas station....

The forecast was for snow in Rowland Heights this past Saturday (on the night of the Super Moon) ... Shaved Snow at Class 302. Who said it never snows in So Cal? Class 302 is more popular than the P.E. class with that one hot teacher. It's because Class 302 has some great Taiwanese food and desserts like their famous Shaved Snow (aka Baobing). We didn't feel like waiting in the ever-present line at Class 302, so, we got a couple orders of Shaved Snow to Go ($6.50 each). We probably should of shared because each was big enough for 2-3 people. * Green Tea, Red Bean Shaved Snow with Rice Cake Earthy green tea ice cream is shaved into thin ribbons giving it a texture of frozen cotton candy. This Shaved Snow contrasts well with an overflow of sweetened Red Bean and huge grainy Rice Cakes (almost like supersize-mochi). Pure cold yummers! * Strawberry & Chocolate Shaved Snow A more traditional American combination has original Milk Ice Cream shaved into light and silky shards topped with fresh Strawberry slices and thick almost fudge-like Chocolate sauce. Compared to the green tea version, this shaved snow was super sweet. I loved it! Class 302 has a school room atmosphere to match its name. The free parking and theme aren't the reason to join the waiting throng outside for 30-45 minutes. The reason to go back to class is because the forecast in Rowland Heights is always for snow no matter what the temperature is outside ... divinely delicious Shaved Snow at Class 302.

The shaved snow was amazing! We customized our shave ice and ordered milk snow with honey boba, mochi, caramel sauce, and caramel egg pudding. It was like a boba milk drink in a different form! So why the 3 stars? The service really sucked. Simple as that.

  • Oulie T.

Whoooa! The shaved snow serving size here is as big as my head. $6.50 for a serving that could easily feed 4. You can't help but snap photos of it if its your first time here because you aren't prepared for the enormity of the thing. Luckily the snow is really light and 2 people can easily make a sizable dent in it. I loved sculpting shapes out of the snow. I dug a little tunnel, that turned into an igloo, that turned into a bridge, which eventually collapsed in a feathery pile of shavings. Yummy artistic fun. We couldn't finish our Mango Strawberry snow but the 2 girls next to us had no problem finishing theirs. I glanced over and it looked like they had resigned themselves to an intense catching up session. They had easily consumed all their snow throughout their lively conversation. The seating inside class 302 is so close together that I couldn't help but pick up bits and pieces of what they were talking about. Cute way to catch up over snow instead of coffee late at night, just make sure the conversation you are having isn't too intimate because more than likely your neighbors well get a nice earful as well.

I usually come in when craving shaved snow. Their milk cream shavings are perfect on hot days. My friend and I usually like ordering their popcorn chicken to accompany it for that sweet and savory duo. Service is hit or miss. Some are more attentive and considerate than others, but all in all everyone is friendly. Tips: Small place so I wouldn't recommend it for large groups. Cash only.

It's been awhile since i came here for snow ice. And it is not the same anymorr. Price hike--expected with interior upgrade eventhough it has nothing to do with quality of food they serve. I dont like the pudding nor the chunky mochi now served with mango snow ice. I loved it when they were optional additive to snow ice. Ice has that artificial mango flavor that doesnt go away quite easily.

Here are a few things to know before coming. - Cash only - If you are not familiar with taiwanese street food such as stinky tofu, then do not sit inside. Eat outside. trust me. - If you do eat inside, be prepared to be swatting flies throughout your meal - Always busy. Hard to find seats inside or outside. If you are in a hurry, just get it to go - It's in the corner of a plaza with one side only having the chinese version of the name so hard to find if you don't recognize the "2" in the name. As for the fluff ice which is the reason I came... A m A z I nG! I tried their Strawberry Mango, Strawberry Chocolate, and Green Tea flavors and I gotta say, the Green Tea was my favorite. It beats any and all green tea fluff ice I've had so far in LA. And did I mention it's HUGE? I love their fluff ice. I don't love their store and seating arrangement. but Go Go Go! (for the fluff ice!)

I'll keep this one quick and to the point: 1) Place is PACKED. Like, ALWAYS (ok, mostly).. 2) Service is slow.. 3) Its shaved ice and gives you a fancy Taiwanese classroom to eat it in! Same kind of shaved ice/snow like most places though - IMO..

The original 302. Truly deserving of the name shaved snow because it's as if they serve you a bowl of sweet snow (not the yellow kind) topped with whatever your hearts desire. Green tea, original, chocolate flavors served with red bean, boba, almond jelly, grass jelly, mochi, mangoes, strawberries, snozzberries (jk on snozzberries). Top it off with fudge, condensed milk, your own bottle of caramel... It will make your tongue and belly happy. With a blatant disregard for potential brain freeze, you will find yourself spoon battling your friends for scoops as the mountain of scrumptious shaved snow before you quickly reduces to a hill, then to a crater, then to a puddle of cold, sweet lava. But no worries, order one more if you find your cravings not yet satisfied. After all, each is around 6 bucks and that my friend is a bargain. They also serve food in cool little aluminum lunch boxes. Goes along with the whole classroom theme I guess but none of the schools I've attended ever served up such wonderful shaved snow concoctions in class...(sad face).

Extremely disappointed! Very bad service, waitress not able to understand English, very rude attitude and asked ( with very rude tone) us to leave the seat when we were sitting outdoor to fix our belongings after bought our take out meal. Milk tea is way too sweet, I only could finished 1/5 of the drinks, so sweet!! Should have inspection for the food and drinks occasionally. Waitress are rude without smiling and greeting customers. Won't be back for sure, and good luck to your shop.

Very home-y Taiwanese food--if you get what I'm saying. Stinky tofu, niu rou mian, and shaved ice are all very good...but not too much a fan of the popcorn chicken. Not sure what's off about it but it just wasn't very good. The service is your typical asian joint, meaning if you speak Chinese you get exactly what you want--but if you don't, you can't blame them for not understanding.

I have learned to APPRECIATE this location -_-' their Irvine-branch of class 302 makes me sad!! I think I will bare through the bad parking and bad service for this GLORIOUS shaved ice!!!!! It is definitely THE BEST shaved ice/snow EVER!! Their shaved ice menu have some preset options that people usually like, but I usually just tell them what I like and they'll make it that way!! My favorite shaved snows are: - original snow (the white one) - strawberry snow - mango snow - green tea snow And my favorite toppings are: - strawberries - mochi - egg pudding - chocolate sauce - CONDENSE MILK *hearts* my absolute favorite combination is: half original/half strawberry snow with strawberries, mochi, chocolate sauce and condense milk!! :)

Best shaved ice of my life. I still dream of it. This place was packed, my hubs and I were the only non-asians in the room but still felt welcomed. The food was yummy as well. We recently moved to South Dakota for our jobs and despite being freezing and surrounded by snow as I type.... I would totally dig into some of Class 302's shaved ice right now. If only! P.s: Don't move to SD.

Being the first shaved snow restaurant in Rowland Heights, CA, I still feel it's the best one in traditional flavors. I don't give it higher stars because it is still a restaurant and the food is mediocre. The focus may be on "Taiwanese boxed lunches" and as much as I feel that when I walk in, I don't taste it. Don't get me wrong, the shaved snow is top notch, thinly sliced and overflowing with milky and fruity flavored. It is the one location that makes me feel like I'm in Ji Long, Taiwan again. No matter what time of the year I'm there, I make an effort to go. Even so, the food is what brings the reviews down. Fried Taiwanese chicken was tough and sometimes charred, rice is not always fresh, and portions are not generous. I'm not asking for an entire bowl of fatty pork and vegetables, but when you can clearly see more rice than ingredients, it doesn't look appetizing. If I wanted to eat a bowl of rice, I'd go home and cook it myself. You want your food to look full and inviting. Price wise, I strongly believe the restaurant charges solely on presentation. The dishes come in layered tin lunchboxes as children have in Taiwan or drinks come in fishbowl glasses hanging off a glass hook, but as "pretty" as it is, the taste throws people off. Decoration wise, I love the feel of an elementary school classroom, but as reminiscent as it is, the furniture is not stable and that's a problem. The last time you want is clients suing you because their child got injured for sitting on a wobbly chair. Lastly, for a restaurant who's renowned for their shaved ice, you have to be prepared to keep stock of your ingredients. Sure, restaurants are bound to run out of food, but if you're top sell is in shaved snow, you better have enough to last throughout the day. Overall, great dessert, not so good anything else. Mango or green tea shaved snow are the best choices.

I LOVE SHAVED SNOW HERE. Every time I visit this area, I come here for shaved snow and little eats - even in the winter. The only 2 things I would complain about are that 1) the restaurant can't fit everyone who wants to eat here, and 2) parking spaces are not spacious in the lot (I've witnessed a couple accidents in this parking lot). Definitely recommend this place!

The review is only for their shave ice. I think I might have eaten here once before, but that was a long time ago... It's finally summer, time for some shave ice! Oh wait, we are in so cal, it's always summer! I love Taiwanese shave ice both the snow ice and the traditional ones. There is no better way to fight the summer heat than to share a plate of ice with various delicious toppings! Their shave snow is not just water based shave ice. Instead the shave snow is sweet and the fluffy! My friends and I ordered strawberry, chocolate, and condensed milk one. It was the perfect combination for a strawberry lover like me. The portion was pretty big. It was the perfect amount for three to share, though I wouldn't mind eating more! They do, like many Asian tea places, have minimum per person. The shave ice is around $6, and the minimum is $3 per person, so we had to order a boba. I didn't try it, but my friend said it was just alright. I guess you don't really come here for the boba when there are plenty of other places in the area that specialized in boba. Next time when I come, if I had to order extra to cover the minimum, I think I'll just order extra toppings on the side for the shave ice. Though they do give you a generous amount of toppings piled on the ice, what's underneath the toppings are all snow plus you can never have too much! Their service could be a bit slow. We were lucky that it wasn't too busy that day, so we got seated right away. However, it took them some time to come over and take our order. I suppose it helped building up the anticipation for the shave ice. Also, they need to bleach (better yet get new ones) the towels they use to wipe the tables, because you can smell the old towel smell in the air. UGH gross!

another good casual eats in the area, I mainly visit there for the iced snow desserts. I would recommended this place for iced snow deserts and paired with yam fries or stinky tofu.

First time here. Fiance was craving snow so Yelp guided us here. We walked in and it was packed. There was one empty table outside and a couple of empty tables inside that could only accommodate 2 people. We stood there awkwardly while the servers bustled back and forth past us never once acknowledging our presence for what seemed like an eternity. So we decided to take charge and the 3 of us took the table outside. There were a couple other tables outside waiting for service and, like us, wondering if they were ever going to be acknowledged. Hey at least they had menus. I even went inside and asked the waitress for some menus. She grumbled at me and waved at to-go menus on the counter. Mmmmkkkayyyy. Grabbed one and went back outside. We watched the waiter come out and take one table's order and shortly after the waitress came out to take the other table's order. Again, not acknowledging us. Really??? They had to have seen us because they threw shade at us the few times they came outside. So we are sitting there wondering WTF. Maybe we are not Chinese enough or hipster enough to deserve the time of day? In the meanwhile people start showing up and it's standing room only waiting for tables. Finally, the waiter comes back out. Waiter: (very rudely) can I help you with something? Me: (offended) Ummm yessss... we need to order. Waiter: (rolling his eyes) where is your number? Me: um we didn't know we needed a number. Waiter: (rolling his neck) you can't just sit at a table. You need a number and we call you and seat you. You need to get a number from the cashier. Me:. (rolling my neck) Mmmkayyy... Would've been nice if either one of you took one second to tell us that anytime during the 30 minutes we sat here watching you ignore us. I even went inside to ask for menus and she could've told us then! AND we were here before all these people so I am not getting a number now. Waiter: (seemingly shocked at my response) um um ok lemme ask the waitress. He went inside and came back out with menus. We considered leaving fearing they'd spit in our food. We decided to stay. Surprisingly the waiter's attitude did an about face and he became very attentive and pleasant. We got our orders pretty quickly after that. We ordered the #2 mango mochi snow to share and I ordered a guava iced green tea. Both were just ok. The snow was kinda bland and didn't have enough condensed milk. The guava green tea was good at first sip but had a bad aftertaste. Regardless of his change of heart, it was still a very unpleasant experience. I expect bad service at Chinese establishments but this was bad. Those 2 have no business being servers. Never again! If I could I'd give this place zero stars!

Place has a lot of the LA oddness that I love. Tiny place with a 20 minute wait usually for what amounts to mid quality Taiwanese comfort food. The snowies here are better than anything down LA or the Westside. Love the GreenTea/redbean snowy the most. I recommend this place if you are tired of your usual joints and just want to try something new.

This place lives up to its hype. Their shaved ice was pretty spot on! I ordered the caramel and mango shaved ince and it was pretty darn good. Their shaved ice is soft, fluffy, fresh, and it just melts in your mouth with a ton of flavor. It is MAGICAL :) FOOD: The caramel one was on the creamier side and their caramel is delicious. The mango shaved ice was great! It came with an incredible amount of mangoes but I wish it came with more rice balls... those things are good! But overall both of these shaved ice makes my list on things to eat whenever I'm down in LA :D It's a must! I also got their drinks and they're just mediocre. I wouldn't go here for the drinks, probably stick to desserts. Their food looks pretty good but I haven't gotten a chance to try it. The downside of this place is that it's pretty small which translate to long wait times ): The place is usually pretty packed and there are usually crowds waiting outside so just be prepared for it! The wait time is around 30 minutes. oh and CASH ONLY.

Class 302 is a cute, casual place to have shaved snow or get a meal with friends. Not a date place: it usually gets pretty loud, and there are pretty long waits if you go at the rush hours. Their shaved snow is not like guppy teahouse. It's called "snow" because they shave frozen MILK, which makes it silkier. Not for the lactose-intolerant... but I still like to enjoy it because their available toppings are more interesting: red beans, boba, egg pudding, etc. Their portions for dessert seem pretty small but at least 3 people can share one! As for food, every time I've been here, they've managed to mess up my order, which is funny. I've actually gotten used to it. First time, I ordered minced pork noodles, but for some reason, pork chop and rice came out. I let the server know and we actually ended up getting the pork chop for free anyway! I got my noodles and everything was fine. All good. I like the food, good-size portions and good prices. Boba comes in the fat cups and is not too bad! Be careful not to drink it too quickly though; I've actually gotten a ridiculous caffeine high from their regular milk tea boba and that was... crazy. In the end, I only come here because it is closer to where I usually am in Irvine; otherwise, I'd rather drive down to Jeffrey and get some great Taiwanese food there. Cash only!

Class 302 is an SGV institution, serving Taiwanese shaved snow in heaping bowls to customers waiting in line just for a taste of the smooth and creamy treat! Be sure to come early on a hot day, because they tend to run out of their mango flavor and then post up a handwritten sign to come back in an hour or two. But that's no problem for me, because I only go for their green tea shaved snow, where I swap out the too sweet red bean for some refreshing strawberries! If you have never had shaved snow, it is NOT the same as shaved ice. The blocks of flavored milk ice are put in machines that shave the ice into ribbons, falling gently into your bowl like snow. It's then topped with condensed milk and traditional toppings, including fruit, red bean and/or mocha. The restaurant itself is tiny, which is why it's no surprise that there are long waits. Modeled after traditional classrooms in Taiwan, you are seated in wooden chairs and school desks. The food is decent, but you can find better at the surrounding eateries. And yes, it's cash only. Did you really need to ask?

This location is really small. They have less than 10 tables, so there is always a long line await. We got lucky that we got seated right away. But it was right next to the restroom with a huge fan blowing on top of our heads. So it wasn't really comfortable. It reached the point that neither of us wanted to order the shaved ice anymore because it was so cold and uncomfortable, even though that was what we were there for. The pig blood rice cake is still one of my favorite. Also a great selection of the milk teas.

Likes: Imagine a mini-Disney-Matterhorn of mango and strawberry shaved snow with sliced mangoes and strawberries set down in front of you. The plus: it's delicious. The minus: you have to share it with the peeps you came with. Sigh...tough life. The popcorn chicken and fried tofu were actually really good too since it had a spice that gave it a kick. Dislikes: The long wait outside in the cold. Thankfully this time we got a seat indoors so I wouldn't be freezing while eating ICE.

Should be downgrade to Class 299, a decrease of 3 notches rating compared to the original "Class 302". Well this place was started 15 yrs ago with the original concept of the Taiwanese elementary school's class room theme setting by a Taiwanese owner. It was a great concept and food was good. It attracted thousands of people over the years. I WAS the elementary school student in year 1975 in Taichung, Taiwan when I was just 8 yrs old. The theme was EXACTLY the way it was - the table, the black chock board and the writing and the art, the student bag and the language and the waitress's "uniform" in green outfit. It is simply - nostalgic. Most recently i went there. I noticed everything had changed. I asked the waitress and found out owner had changed hands and it was purchased by China people. Here we go again. Everything had changed. The owner I guess "remodeled" the restaurant. OMG, I am shocked without words. It is no longer the experience and the theme it WAS. This is just like another Chinese restaurant on the street. The new tables are brand new and I bet it is "Made in China", the chairs are "Made in China" too and no longer there is the green and attractive elementary school uniform. Because the original 50 chairs, 50 tables from the Class 302 restaurant all were imported from a local SCHOOL in Taipei, Taiwan and these new ones are NOT. They are made in China to look like imports from Taiwan and that is kida fake. Worse, the owner REMOVED the patio and the covers and so the people eating out side will be "eating the sunlight" at the same time or eating the "winter wind". The menu, OMG...price had increased by 10%-25%. I WAS THERE yesterday with friends and family and ordered the following for lunch: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pork Rib Special Railroad Box (still good I give 4 star) Soy Chicken Special Box (2 start): the chicken is too hard Pig Fee Special Box (2 star): the pig fee is too hard to bite 1 small Sparerib Bitter Melon soup: the bitter melon was too hard and soup was too hot (2 star) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Food was given not to slow so it is ok. Price, here we go.. the price 3 lunch boxes with 1 soup totaled $33.35 and we leave with $35.00 including the tip. Over all, I may not come back again cus I don't want to potentially be seated to suck the wind or eat the sunlight while eating with a "confusing nostalgic" experience. This restaurant should be called Class 299, and not Class 302. In the end I am going to play "hooky" from Class 302. Good-Bye.

Only good thing about this place is the shaved ice. I strongly dislike the $3 minimum per person...all the food listed on the menu was mediocre at best. With a party of 8, we shared 2 shaved ice which was pretty much a good size for everyone. My favorites were the strawberry and mango, and the green tea paired with beans and topped with thick chunks of mochi. Loved every bite and I really enjoyed how thinly sliced the ice was. The flavors were so delicious and the shaved ice was not too sweet. For food we went with the ground pork with dried pork and rice and the popcorn chicken. Nothing impressive about those dishes.. Overall service was mediocre..and I suggest eating outside because inside the restaurant just reeks of stinky tofu. I couldn't stand the smell until half an hour in when my nose started adjusting to the smell. If you do sit outside, bring a light sweater because the weather tends to cool down a lot at nighttime. Great place to sit and catch up with friends.

I really don't understand the fuss about this place. There are so many other places in Rowland Heights with much better food for much cheaper price. Of course, some people may find the Taiwanese elementary school themed decor interesting in Class 302, but I gotta say those elementary school desks are not good for EATING. The height of the chairs and table is just so awkward I feel like I have to bend to eat (and I am 5'2''). And many tables and chairs are wobbly and seem like they can collapse at any second. I just don't find the atmosphere pleasant and relaxing at all. Now about the food..other than the shaved snow, everything else (popcorn chicken, fries...etc) comes in super tiny portion and tastes very ordinary. I think you will find yourself much more satisfied going to Simbara if you are craving shaved ice. The shaved ice there is $4.95 (if I remember correctly) for 5 toppings and it comes in huge portion. There are just so many Taiwanese restaurants in the area that are so much better than Class 302. And the service? Not a big fan. I've been there 2-3 times and I never liked my watresses. They were very impatient and unattentive. In summary, Class 302 is overratted. Do yourself a favor and go to a different restaurant with no wait and better food.

This was my third time here, first sitting inside. I have to say that i was totally disappointed with this experience. We went on a monday afternoon. The place was about at 40% capacity. First, there was a funky stench (possible spices or something else) in the place. Not sure if it is a consistent odor, but it was my first time smelling it. Unfortunately, it was too hot to sit outside. Next, there was a ton of flies. How can you have flies in a cafe? The "B" rating should have given it away. Also the tabletop and menus were all sticky. The chairs were all rickety and place was really cramped. The shaved ice was what we came for and that was good. A little annoyed that the waiter mentioned the minimum order of $3 per person. I will return but will sit outside and enjoy my food without flies...I truly believe that a restaurant is more than just about the food but the overall experience.

Came here again with a larger group on an extremely hot Saturday. At 4 p.m., there was already a crazy wait. Ordered three shaved snows: green tea with red bean, mango with mochi, and original milk flavored with strawberries. As usual, they come out in epic portions. Having now been to Blockheads and comparing it to 302, I wish that 302 offered different sizes. One of the things I dislike is that the snow comes out very flaky - perfect - at the beginning but begins to melt as you struggle to finish the mound off. My fix - if there were smaller sizes, I could enjoy the flakiness (as it's supposed to be) for the entire time. This might sound picky, especially because, duh, frozen ice cream will melt, but I also want to enjoy my shaved snow as shaved snow, and not as a puddle of green flavored liquid. Service: Still kind of scattered and the restaurant is still sorely understaffed. Need to build up your courage and flag people down. Bottom line: Been to Blockheads? Yes, that's right 302: make smaller shaved snows. We love it so we'll continue to order, but we don't like it when it melts into a big puddle!

Apparently the most authentic Taiwanese shaved ice down in SoCal, so even though I had gorged myself at 85C Bakery right beforehand, I was determined to give this a try. I decided to go with the mango-strawberry flavor since that was the most popular, and it didn't seem like you could go wrong with two great fruits. Now, I've never actually tried shaved ice in Taiwan, but this was definitely a bit different than other places I've tried in the US. It was shaved into sheets with smooth edges and looked a bit like the thick rice noodles. The ice actually had a sweet flavor to it, but I couldn't pin point what flavor it was. A friend later informed me that they make their ice with condensed milk already in it!! The mango and strawberries were nicely placed on top of the ice with condensed milk generously drizzled on top. Quite simple, but it also tasted quite good. When all the fruit was eaten though, the shaved ice was a bit too sweet to eat all on its own. I think I still prefer plain ice with condensed milk on top to balance out the sweetness. On another note, they also serve other authentic savory Taiwanese dishes like stinky tofu and pork blood if that's what you fancy. I'm glad I've now experienced what Taiwanese shaved ice is "supposed" to taste like. Next stop: Taiwan!

Class 302 is known for their shaved ice but everything thing else is well, A-OK. The shaved snow is creamy, flakey, and melts in your mouth. Don't order one without the mochi topping! There's often a wait because the restaurant is so small. The smart thing to do is to order it to go so that you'd get it faster and you wouldn't have to sit inside the cramped little space. The decoration of Class 302 is quite adorable. It's like a little school room, with wooden desks and adorable tiny chairs. The service? Meh, could be way better. Most of the time the waiters are flustered and running around the place. But at least you'll feel like a little school girl while eating your shaved snow! RECOMMEND: Green tea shaved snow with red bean and mochi! A definite must!

This place is bomb!!!! I've only had the shaved ice however. It looks like cream, and the toppings are more than enough. Portion size is enough to share! But I'm greedy so I do my best to finish it myself. I haven't had any other dishes. Place is small so expect to wait, especially during hot weather.

Well after seeing this place pop up on facebook check-ins all the time. I ended up here after KBBQ lol that was a bad move I am sure but well this place is easy to define even so... So you get inside and you are thinking that the place is pretty fobbie with old school desks for tables and a chalkboard on the wall they are living up to their name. The only thing missing are the naughty school girls and a stripper pole... but alas this is a dessert joint not a strip bar as you may think at first. And by dessert place we are talking Chinese/Asian style desserts. They have a bunch of yummy mixtures with mango, strawberry, etc... take a look at the pics. It is some beautiful looking stuff and it tastes as good. I believe that they have some regular grub there too, but we didnt get that. I was surprised there was a table open when we arrived. Our order was taken fairly quickly as well. I dont know exactly what we ordered as one of my friends ordered for the 4 of us there. She is a regular and loves this place. The overall size of this place was tiny. There wasnt much room there at all. The food was tasty but I couldnt eat a heck of a lot after having just stuffed my face with KBBQ. None the less it did seem a bit pricey for what you get it. So I think the place is ok; Tasty desserts offset by high prices...

An enthusiastic five stars! This place was awesome! I have to say that it's probably important to arrive earlier. Based on the quantity as well as content of reviews I'm sure there's a wait pretty frequently. We arrived on sunday at 12:00 soon after the place opened. We got a table of our choice right away, there were plenty of empty ones. I love the ambiance. Definitely brings back a sense of nostalgia to be a classroom like place with a blackboard, desks and rickety chairs! We had lunch here and it was great. We both got "lunchboxes". The chicken roll was tasty as well as the grilled marinated chicken. Now on to the shaved ice. I have to say that I love shaved ice, and have eaten it at many a place. This place was by far the best that I've ever tried. Get the strawberry and mango... I'm drooling just to think about it!!

Had their custom snow ice with red bean, rice cake, condensed milk, grass jelly and pudding. Snow ice was nice and fluffy and nothing to heavy and everything didn't taste "too" out-of-the-can. Cheap, too, at around $7 and it can feed 3-4 people well. Also had milk tea with pudding -- too sweet for my tastes, would pass next time. We went at 10pm and we had a 10 minute wait, but the service was pleasant. Yes, it does smell like stinky tofu but you really don't notice it after a few minutes. The classroom desks were absolutely adorable. TIP: It says that they close at midnight but if you plan to dine in, go before 11:30, as that is when it is take out only.

This is my absolute favorite place to go for shaved snow. It's a pretty small cramped store, but I think it gives off that authentic Taiwanese vibe. The prices are pretty cheap too! Especially for the huge amount of snow that you end up getting. I've tried both the green tea and vanilla shaved snow combos. I liked the vanilla a lot better. For some reason it just seemed to have more flavor. I've heard their mango one is pretty good too. They give you a generous scoop of red bean, and the mochi was really soft and chewy as well. I love how well the condensed milk complements the shaved snow. Every bite is just so yummy! Favorite shaved snow combo ever. The snow is actually creamy! It's not quite ice cream texture, but it's pretty close and you would never associate it with just being flavored ice. Anyway, I would highly highly recommend giving this place a try. I wasn't a big fan of shaved snow until I tried this place.

Not sure what happened to Class 302, but quality definitely went down the drain here. This used to be on my "must-go" places when I take visitors on LA food tour, even if it means I have to cross over many cities, but not anymore. Perhaps this explained how we got seated right away (vs. the typical 20+ minutes wait). Shaved ice: they now use frozen fruits instead of fresh fruits. I'm not sure if they think the customers wouldn't notice it, but we did. Very disappointing! Hot grass jelly: everything about this dessert was done wrong. I literally mean everything. First, the texture of the hot grass jelly should be smooth, very warm if not hot, black liquid that warms your tummy and soul. Instead, we were presented with a bunch of room-temperature broken jelly mixed with a bunch of toppings. Plus, they said they don't have peanuts anymore (sounded like it's out for the day). Upon further "investigation." turned out they haven't had fresh fried peanuts since they renovated the shop (and the peanut chef moved to a different location). Hot grass jelly without fresh fried peanuts is no bueno! I was heartbroken. I love this dessert and nobody else did it as well as Class 302 (well at least in the past). Now I don't know where else to go for it. I also missed the old school, well used furniture. They seemed to refinish and overly repaired the desks (or simply replaced them with a new set). I missed the old look. We noticed the owner(s) was not there and that was highly unusual. My suspicion was that they sold it to a new owner and perhaps new management cut corners to recoup the costs of decor. I don't think I'll ever be coming back here. It's definitely not worth the almost 100 miles trip. T_T

THE SHAVED SNOW HERE IS DA BOMB When I think of shaved ice/snow, nothing compares to what you'll find here! Their shaver makes the snow really light and it doesn't clump together; and you can't go wrong with the choices of toppings and flavors they have. I usually build my own vanilla/green tea snow with boba, rice cake, grass jelly, egg pudding, and condensed milk. Or you could keep it simple and get any of the premade choices, like mango/strawberry on vanilla snow. It's only $6.50 and you should probably share because it's a hefty serving! I also make sure I have an order of their milk tea with grass jelly to go - so yummy! I'm not a big fan of Taiwanese food, so I can't help you guys in that area. The setup is super cute - it has a theme of a school, with all the tables as "desks." The service is pretty hands-off, but that's expected out of a small Asian restaurant (IMO). The space is small, so expect a wait around dinner/dessert time if you have a party of more than two. It's a little noisy there, but not too crazy. There's also plenty of free parking in the lot; and it's cash only.

The furniture was taken from Taiwanese elementary schools. You may feel like Godzilla if you are not a Taiwanese child. I loved it because it made me feel like a kid again. For your main course, you have to try the railroad pork chop rice. The flavor and presentation is exactly like that offered to railroad passengers in Taiwan. Class 302 is a niche restaurant but there are enough Taiwanese immigrants to make it a hit.

RIIINGG RIIINNGG. Time to go back to class302! If school was really full of desserts like 302, I'd be in school ALL day EVERY day. Class 302 reminded me of the Taiwanese dramas with two LEGIT wooden desks and two LEGIT wooden chairs for my friend and I. They serve a variety of Taiwanese food from hot noodles in soup to cold sweet shaved ice to hot frothy drinks to freezing smoothies. For my first time, I got to experience the Mango Strawberry Shaved Snow (about $6.50). Mango Strawberry Shaved Snow: 3 stars. For about $7, I got a generous amount of shaved snow even though they only gave frugal amount of fruits. The shaved snow itself was very fluffy and I liked the texture way more than shaved ice. It reminded me of fluff ice in Monterey Park. HOWEVER, flavor wise, it tasted bland after the condensed milk was gone. Other than that, it was pretty tasty. yelp.com/biz_photos/clas… Ok, dont laugh at me, but when my friend and I first came here, it took us... 15 minutes to find the place... It's pretty ridiculous. We parked in the plaza and we did not see class 302 at all. We went inside 99 ranch to try and find it and it wasnt inside. So we went out through the back of 99 ranch to walk a whole 180 degree around the plaza to finally find it. Class 302 is to your left when you face 99 ranch, dont walk inside. There is plenty of parking, maybe because we went around 9pm. Customer service was alright. They were not SUPER friendly nor were they SUPER enthusiastic but they werent rude, so I wont complain that much. The interior is very Taiwanese-like with a BIG black board at one end of the wall. The black board was very cute because in chalk it had a "welcome to class 302" message and had the specials all written in chalk. Unfortunately it was in complete Chinese, if I had not taken Chinese school I would have been super lost. THANK YOU MOTHER FOR MAKING ME TAKE CHINESE SCHOOL 10 YEARS OF MY LIFE. The restaurant was tiny. They had less than 15 tables inside and about 5 tables outdoor. Groups of 2-5 is fine, but any bigger than that... GOOD LUCK. A very chill place to hang out with friends. It is about a one hour drive from Monterey Park, so if I'm around the area, it would be a great place for Shaved Snow. I have not tried their other food yet, but I think they're only famous for their Shaved Snow, so I'm going to stick to that.

This is my favorite Taiwanese shaved ice place. There are some cons about this place, but the pros seem to out way it. Cons: Parking usually sucks at this shopping center, 302 is a pretty small space, so seating is limited, the wait is usually 30 minutes if not longer, and it's cash only. Now that, that's out of the way, on to the good. I have tried a few things here: -Fried Fish Cakes - Beef Noodle Soup - Wonton Soup - Taiwanese sausage - Fried Chicken - Green Tea flavored shaved ice - Add your own topping shaved ice Their food is not amazing here, but it's good enough. Fried fish cakes reminds me of the ones from Lollicup. You get about 5 wontons in the soup with some vegetable. I subbed the red bean for pudding on the green tea shaved ice. It was really good, my mom is Taiwanese though and she wasn't use to this kind of shaved ice. The ice itself is creamy and finely shaven.

This is my second time at Class 302 and it never disappoints. We got the green tea shaved ice and the milk tea between 3 girls. We had to buy the milk tea because there is minimum order of $3/person. The green tea shaved ice is soooo good. It's not your typical shaved ice served at most korean places, but sheets of shaved ice. Love it. It comes with red bean and huge mochi nuggets (mochi on steroids). The milk tea was actually very good too. The interior design concept of this place is super cute. It's arranged like a classroom with old wooden chairs with small desks. There is a huge chalkboard that takes up the entire wall space on one side. The place is actually pretty small and it is very popular so sometimes if you get there at the wrong time, you will have to wait. There is outside seating, but sitting inside is better. It is not just a dessert place, they have food as well!

Stick with the shaved ice. We ordered the spicy beef noodle, braised pork chop, and ground beef over rice. The food was mediocre and not worth $8 to $9 per dish. Not planning to order the food again. Shaved ice also ranges from $8 to $9 but is big enough to split among 3 to 4 people. Great place to go for the shaved ice.

I don't understand the hype about this place at all. Yes, the shaved ice was tasty, but it wasn't exceptional. The food we ordered - popcorn chicken was ok, stinky tofu was soggy and the spicy beef soup was lukewarm. The best thing for me was the sweet potato with plum powder which was pretty chunky and overcooked but taste was good. The staff however, could really use a good training on customer service. The 3 or 4 that were there were stone-faced. I know many other people who would appreciate their job more than them. We were seated as a party of 8 in a cramped booth and our order was taken. Since half our party wasn't ready, the waiter with the glasses took partial order and said he would be back. He never did. I had to chase him down after 15-20mins and ask to order. When he came, he said that he would have to retake our whole order because he hadn't put it in. Incredulous! On the menu there are drink items that we can order hot/cold. We requested a Passionfruit hot tea and was told that they couldn't make it hot - when it was listed under the menu as Hot/Cold. I even pointed that out to him. He then proceeded to take our order for an imaginary Grapefruit ice tea that no one ordered. Served it up and said that it was the drink that we ordered which he couldn't make hot. I told him that if they couldn't make it hot, why did he put the order in? AND it wasn't even the RIGHT order! My friend said that it was fine and he told the waiter that it was ok. We asked for water 3 times and never received it. Waitress started to clean up and wipe the table even though my friend was still working on her noodle soup. At the end of it all, we asked for the receipt and started debating on whether we should even leave a 15% tip. We decided to just leave a 10% because they tacked on that drink onto our bill. We left and waited outside for my friend who needed to use the restroom. They chased us down, and said that we calculated the bill wrong. Apparently they forgot to add on the 15% tip onto the bill. Our tip was $2 less and they reprinted a whole new receipt just to add it on. One of my friends couldn't take the bad service anymore and straight up asked the one who looked like she was the manager, why they added the drink on that was clearly the waiter's mistake. The manager then snatched the bill out of my friend's hands and asked rudely did we accept the drink. My friend explained that it was a mistake on their part, and that we would not be paying the extra $2 for bad service. She was like OK, OK and proceeded to tap furiously on her touchscreen thingy for effect. We just left. There are plenty of restaurants with good customer service and even better food in Rowland Heights. Appalling service. Two stars for food.

HAHA THIS IS THE CLOSEST CALIFORNIANS GET TO SNOW. So sad... At least it's good. My friend and I shared the green tea. Dang. I don't even know how you flavor snow/ice as green tea. I really don't get how you do that haha. But the sheets are so flaky and soft and are the perfect snow texture. Green tea and red beans are always perfect combination. I love it. With condensed milk and mochi as well, it's a great dessert dish.

Do not come for regular food dishes. Food came out in 3 minutes. 6 orders. All items were warm and not hot. The wonton was the worst. The skin was broken and it was pre-boiled. The furniture were worn out and appear dirty.

Shaved ice is yummy! Came here on a Monday night and there was NO line! Got seated right away and ordered the honey boba shaved ice, which also came with grass jelly and pudding under the shaved ice. It came out pretty quickly and it was so good! The honey boba came on the side. Not too sweet as well! I am definitely looking forward to trying other shaved ice flavors ^____^ My friend told me they remodeled. I really like the decoration on the walls and desks that are used as tables! :) I'm craving Class 302's shaved ice right now :(

Prior to coming here, my only experience with shaved ice was the kind you get like at Shaka's -- a Hawaiian snow cone with crushed iced in a mound with flavored syrup poured over the top. This "shaved snow" is completely different. Class 302 sets the standard around these parts for a product that is light and flavorful and up until recently, pretty unique... There always seems to be an overflowing crowd, but it wasn't always like this. This corner of the 99 Ranch Market shopping mall not too long ago was a revolving door of failed businesses, none at least that could compare to the wild success of Class 302... It's a tiny place that is somewhat modeled after a southeast Asian classroom, complete with small student desks as dining tables. There is also a patio outside. Although they also serve savory items as well, this review is about their shaved snow... As best as I can describe it, texturally the shaved snow seems like layer upon layer of pulled soft serve ice cream or thick yogurt. The threads of milky shaved snow wind together and looks like varying ribbons or even shards of pasta, some wide like fettuccine, some thin like vermicelli. When I stare at it, it even reminds me of bean curd noodle (foo juk) a little. The staying power of the shape of the cold dessert is amazing, I don't understand how it just doesn't melt into a mess right away. Eventually, it does give way but not for minutes as opposed to seconds. What you wind up with is an impressive mound big enough for two... On this occasion, I went with a friend that has been here before. I was afraid to come on my own in the past because I was afraid that I didn't speak the same dialect, but with the help of my friend, this wasn't of any concern. We came for an after lunch dessert and I was happy to defer to my friends recommendations... The strawberry mango shaved snow was good, but the flavors were "safe", perhaps even boring and unsophisticated... yelp.com/biz_photos/5idA… The red bean green tea snow was better because it was different, but still, very Asian... yelp.com/biz_photos/5idA… The clientele is definitely on the younger 20 something fobby side. I can see myself coming back for the shaved snow, but I don't know if I am willing to brave the crowd or the wait for it. Oh yeah, it's cash only...

The best shaved ice ever!!! It's thin layers of shaved ice. It's so fluffy!!! I love their Mango & Strawberry Shaved Snow!!! Only downside is that there's always a huge wait.

Okay. So it was my first time there. I was excited cause I heard the snow ice is really good. The room was packed with a lot of people and we got seated on the back corner. The food was okay, I still worked on my popcorn chicken when the waiter asked whether we ready for the snow ice or not. We said yes because we actually already had lunch like an hour before and we just desired a light meal and dessert. Alright, so the snow ice came in. The waitress took our popcorn chicken which we had not finished yet without asking. We didn't realize at the moment but when we asked for a bill and our popcorn chicken back as we expected they put it in a to go box, we found out that they already threw away the chicken. We pissed off, not for the chicken itself but for the treatment. They didn't ask whether we finished it or not, they just assumed. Even they assumed, how does the FULL BASKET of chicken look to them? Was it a good assumption to think we finished? And the snow ice itself was bland without the condensed milk. We are so disappointed and would never ever come back again. Definitely!

What can I say about Class 302? Their shaved snow is awesome!!!! I personally love their Mango Snow, Strawberry and Mango Shaved Snow, and their new Berry Dream Shaved snow! Their shaved snow is creamy yet delicious! And their strawberries and mangos are decadently sweet with fresh fruit and syrup. Then, its drizzled with sweetened condensed milk to give it an extra sweetness and creaminess. I recently tried their Berry Dream Shaved Snow and it OMG OMG amazing! It literally taste like I'm eating strawberry ice cream topped with chocolate fudge. it is like chocolate dipped strawberries but in a shaved snow form!!! By far this is my favorite shaved snow flavor!!! Although I have been coming to this place for years, I am a bit disappointed that this place is very small and yet very crowded. Inside, it only has about 6 tables which are always full and I always have to wait a very long time to get a table. The owner should consider moving Class 302 to a bigger space close to this location. Even though the place might be small, their shaved snow is worth trying!!!! You won't be disappointed!

I finally got to try this place out after all the hype and pictures! My friends and I arrived here at 9pm after a long day of hiking. We were told that the wait would be over an hour for 5 people, but luckily we stuck around and realized a lot of groups left and gave up, so we only had to wait 25 minutes. Lesson - definitely look around and gauge before giving up! We tried 2 different shaved snow bowls and some popcorn chicken. The popcorn chicken was delicious and typical of any asian snacking place - it was a decent portion size and I loved the basil that was included. The strawberry mango shaved snow was my favorite by far - but the only downside is that the mango doesn't taste fresh and tasted more like canned peaches than mango...We also tried the green tea shaved snow with red bean. It was really refreshing but definitely not super flavorful when compared to the fruit ones. It was nice to try them both though! I would definitely come back again because prices are pretty fair. The wait can be long but once you are seated, service is pretty quick!

If you've tried shaved ice, you havnt had real dessert till you've had shaved snow!! And this, is where you should come for the best!. I came here over the weekend with a friend around the lunch hour, but the wait luckily was not that long, AND we luckily found parking in the small lot. We got the shaved snow where you get to choose 5 toppings, instead of the pre-made versions. There is a pretty good list, maybe 15 types? We ended up on choosing the red bean, almond tofu, egg pudding, rice cake, and condensed milk. A few minutes alter, it came out and wow! its big!! I'd recommend sharing with maybe 4 people because it was actually kind of hard to eat it all between the two of us. Anyways, the texture of the shaved snow was really nice, I love how it kind of looks like paper but then melts in your mouth in a sweet savory way. The condensed milk was sprinkled on top, and the individual toppings where separated into different sections. It's like a surprise depending on where you dig your spoon into. The almond tofu is delicious!! Nice and sweet and soft and a perfect compliment to the shaved snow!! I wish there was more actually. The rice cake was okay, not my favorite because it was hard to chew and was served in too big of a piece to eat. The red bean and egg pudding were also delicious with the shaved snow and not a bad choice either. Next time I go, I want to try the green tea shaved snow. A lot of people were getting it and it looked reallyyyy good. My friend also got one of the sausage and chicken wrap or something dish. It came out in a pretty cute little tin pan that looks like it is not a lot. But it took him a long time to eat it, and he looked really full and satisfied afterwards. Therefore..the food must be good!

The caramel pudding snow ice is the BEST here!!! Better than the mango with mochi snow ice. The portion is large enough to share for a party of 4 and it's around $7 for each one. Plenty of parking.

Wow. I knew the service sucked here but after tonight I am never coming back. I came with my friends to chill and have a good time because this place was known to give that vibe plus the shaved ice is pretty good. Honestly, we sat ourselves (even if it said they would seat us), I had to ask to clean our table, it took them 15 mins to give us a menu, we literally asked for water 6 times, they never checked on us, WE had to ask THEM for our bill. By the time it came to decide the tip I thought they deserved nothing. We ended up just giving all our coins from the change. The only time this waiter's service was on point was when we got up to leave and he rushed outside JUST TO SEE IF WE LEFT A TIP. He literally stopped us and asked if that was seriously our tip. Then he started arguing that we NEED to leave a 15%-18% tip. I argued that there was no written statement anywhere that we had to. I also pointed out the sucky service and he just said "sorry" and stood there watching and waiting. I just gave a couple bucks to end the drama, but that was extrememly unprofessional. I understand that tips are where they get their bulk of the money but come on. If you want good tip you, you got to give a good service for crying out loud. Not demand one after literally DOING NOTHING. And to be clear, this all happened when it wasnt even remotely busy. Mediocre food. If only the workers were at least mediocretoo. I wish I could give negative stars. More places are opening up all around this city that sells shaved ice similar to here. I would rather go there and get a decent waiter with some manners them come back to this place.

I have been to this place two times. The way to this location is a little confusing because of all the constructions and closed roads. I came in March this year and now in August. Each time I would get lost. Anyway, this location is very small and each time there is a long wait.. Shaved ice is good with huge portion. I love all shaved ice with mochi... Make sure to share with friends - HUGE!

Nothing to do on a hot summer day? Come stop by the 626 for 302's famous snow ice de.li .cious. BUT, don't expect a fine dining experience. the service is horrible (just like it is back in the mainland).

I came in on 9/2/2014 at roughly 5pm. They sat us on a really small table (felt like a third grader's school desk) So we opted to change to a bigger table. I ordered a Oreo caramel something shaved snow and my girlfriend ordered a wonton soup. The snow was delicious! My girlfriend didn't enjoy her soup whatsoever but I'm writing this review based off my own experience. Overall my dessert was great but the restaurant itself didn't feel very clean. I get that they are trying to replicate a classroom but it just isn't a good idea for a restaurant. Service is very tentative so I'd say they're fast and friendly.

I could tell you about how this place is in a plaza with 99 Ranch so there is a lot of parking. Or how it's small and classroom-like (to match the name!) and how there is always a wait. Always. Or how the staff is not always very friendly and the bathroom is small. But who cares about all that? Who cares that they offer savory food items here? I don't understand why they bother. That is not why you come here. Or why I came here. I came here for one reason: to try their delicious snow ice. And then I saw on their menu: MANGO MOCHI SNOW ICE. What more do you need to know? It was big, soft, and so delicious. My friend and I devoured it. Now it's your turn to go devour it. SO GOOD. (Important note: this place is cash only.)

Indeed it was different during the winter time! First of all, don't sit near the door like I did. That wasn't very enjoyable when I'm trying to eat my shaved ice with the outside breeze when it's super cold. There weren't any flies this time so that was a plus for me. They'll be back in the summertime, I'm sure. There's a $3 per person rule so make sure you order a shaved ice between two people! I love red bean, rice cake, and condensed milk. Those 3 are my definites for a yummy shaved ice :). I wish we had this place back home in Vegas. Service is pronto - just get their attention. CASH ONLY.

YUM - I ate an entire order on my own... that's how good it was. We stopped by Class 302 (third grade, second class) to have some shaved snow at around 2pm and it was still packed, no parking anywhere, no where to even stand in the store. I ordered the most popular item, Strawberry + Mango shaved snow - pretty unique texture, like the ones that I find at night markets back in Taiwan. I don't think there's any place like this in the Bay Area. This isn't shave ice (like the ones in Hawaii) nor is it shaved ice (like the ones from Taiwanese restaurants) - the "snow" is made from milk, so it's tasty the entire time, even without toppings. We got everything to-go and 20 minutes later, it was still in tip-top condition even in 75 degree weather. They have other flavors and toppings too, but personally, I wouldn't venture too far away from fruits and condensed milk. PHOTO: yelp.com/biz_photos/5idA…

This place was a must for my SoCal trip. Although snow ice is really just flavored ice/milk, fruit and condensed milk, the combination gives a heavenly texture and taste. It was smooth, milky and fruity as it melted in your mouth. It's kind of like ice cream minus the calories, and who doesn't want that?! We got the strawberry and mango flavor and it was divine. The portion was also huge for around $6-7 a dish, but it was no match against my sweet tooth (I had a tag team to help me though). I would totally try the red bean and green tea flavor on my next food adventure. Despite the impeccable snow ice, the service was disappointing. We came on a Sunday night and it was really busy inside. We sat outside which was nice since the interior reeked of stinky tofu. The waitress helped kick out some loiterers for our seats, which was nice of her. However, she totally forgot about us so we had to go up to order. Then after about 15 minutes of waiting, we found out that she forgot to put in our order too. Double whammy. No bueno. Plus, the plastic beach chairs seemed like they were going to collapse at any moment and I didn't dare brushing my sleeves against the sticky tables. Anywho, if you don't mind the lack of service and cleanliness, then you should totally try their snow ice. And if you do mind, then you can always get a doggie bag to-go.

Terrible customer service! Rude Asian ladies working in the front! They don't make eye contact and wouldn't seat us even though there was no one waiting. They said there was a waiting list to be seated and no one was even waiting. Terrible workers!!!!!!!!!!!

After trying to try this place out, I finally got to go today! After the March for Dimes (Walk for Babies) Event 2012 and the shopping in Newport, we came back to RH for the shaved ice. Unlike FLUFF ICE (located in Monterey Park), their ice is literally shaved, very thin slices of flavored ice. We got the Green Tea Shaved Ice with condensed milk, red bean, and mochi pieces. So GOOD! As a Taiwanese American, I've always been in love with the crispy chicken with basil. Well, our other order was just that. So delish and just so flavorful. Now, if you expect this place to be clean, well....DON'T. On top, seating sucks. They probably only have eight tables, max indoors and four tables outdoors. That's the reason it was so difficult for me to try their CLASS 302 shaved ice (well, I hate lines and I am not willing to wait in the hot sun for more than 20 min for shaved ice). Another thing...its CASH ONLY! So, if you are like me and rarely carry cash, then YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. I was fortunate enough to have a 20dollar bill in my purse. I do recommend anyone interested in Taiwanese food and the experience of eating in a classroom with Taiwanese style lunch boxes, then go for it! Come for the Taiwanese EXPERIENCE.

Have try 3 different shave ice location, this one is the best !, best bang for your backs, which there were more seats, also is the most crowded of them all not to mention parking nightmare. But quality and portion of the shaved ice is no =.

Everyone raves about the shaved ice. But on a cool Cali evening we came here for a late supper at 11pm. It's open until midnight! Fantastic! But bring cash as credit/debit is no good at many Chinese places! We ordered the beef noodle stew/soup which came with thick rice noodles. Thin egg noodles would have been nice, but at 11pm who cares?! :) The stewed pork mince with pickles and rice was good, with the pickles highlighting the flavor of the meal. If you want Taiwanese classics like stinky tofu, etc. that you'd find in the night markets you should stop by. This place is popular with groups and we were the oldest customers at this hour. Late at night it's teens+ gossiping or young couples sharing shaved ice.

A popular shaved snow in the hearts of Rowland Heights. Located about 40 miles away from school, not exactly the closest place to drive to for just desserts. Anyway its a popular spot among people that live in San Gabriel and of course us, L and L. I believe its a perfect dessert for summer? but we were here in winter. Go figure. Shaved snow is kind of different from the regular shaved ice. I heard alot about chemicals added to it so that the ice could attain the desired texture? Not too sure about it. But from what I read, its basically shaving a block of flavored frozen milk rather than ice into strips or sheets thats have like a rather fluffy and porous structure? Service is alright, average, like any asian restaurant. The tables are kinda sticky from I guess all the deserts that they serve? They have a grade "B" rating pasted on the door tho. Maybe its time for spring cleaning? The menu is written on the chalk board on the wall resembles that of a classroom and the table and seats are also supposed as well. The place is usually so packed that you could normally grab the beeper and head to Ranch 99 or something and come back when the beeper goes off. The place is kinda small and tables are normally readily available on the outside but if you wanted a table inside... you know how it goes. As there was a minimum charge of 3 bucks per pax, we had like fluff ice and also a soup. Weird combination I know.. and finally its also cash only. On a side note, if you live near Westwood, there's another similar eatery that serves only shaved snow, Blockheads Shavery, on Sawtelle Blvd that might satisfy the shaved snow craving without the 40 miles drive.

$6.50 cash strawberry mango shaved snow. Small joint. BUTTT BECAREFUL! Mangos are sometimes not fresh, if its old.....just take it off an eat the strawberries. Wow even on cold nights 840p still a wait. But at least I know they're not going to run out of shaved milk icee. Strawberry and milk is best Great for big groups. Yes, there lots of modern shaved snow popping all over the 626 SGV, but reallyyyyy none of them compares in quality. The rest of them are fakers with a whole lot of sugar added into their snow :(

I would want to give this place a 1 star review, but since their server tried to help the situation better. I am giving them credit for it. I have always been just okay with the food and seating comfort. But being just sat at the corner with the AC full on blowing at the food, particularly at the shabu and waited for 20 minutes for it to heat up just make it a very disappointing experience. I have asked them to turn the AC down and the respond is " the floor get slippery " if they do. Okay, I give them reasoning, could be condensation, whatever. When the food came, they lit up the fire for the pot. And the fire just heating up side way because of the strong AC and took like 15 min and still not heating up the soup base. The waitress tried to bring it back to the kitchen and heat it upand brought over a new fire. But it only last for another 15 minutes before the soup gets warm again. The whole process of trying to keep it hot was just too much afford for a meal. And the food being taken away half eaten is irritating. Having to have to wait for a table with decent food and with this AC issue, I think this will be the last time coming to this restaurant.

I go here so often, yet when I went this time, my experience was terrible. Service was EXTREMELY rude. They don't care about you, and they always disappear and do not reappear until it is too late. This last time, the three of us came to enjoy some good old shaved ice. We ordered one because we already ate lunch, and then the server announced that we each had to order $3 minimum to sit inside on the tables unless it was late night time because they need the tables. Um, we came at 4 pm, there were 3 other tables open and no one was coming in. What the heck? When we asked why, he said that it was policy and that we could leave if we wanted. He was very rude throughout the whole encounter and obviously did not care if customers came back or not. I mean, I understand the fact that business is business; my family owns a restaurant as well. You need tables to order more to survive. But it is not mandatory that you have to pay a $3 minimum, and the fact that he was rude pissed me off. The business was slow- there were multiple open tables waiting for customers; it was 4 pm in the afternoon. I have come to Class 302 many, many times, brought so many friends here and advertised their business. I will not be coming back.

We came here tonight for shaved snow, and the woman working as the cashier/hostess was awful. Super rude, obnoxious, and lacked every sense of customer service. It's not like their shaved snow is that good...I actually prefer shaved ice to their shaved snow. But I'll never come back here again.

Some good shaved ice. An exceptionally good dessert on a Hot summer day. Very small inside so there could be a wait time. However, there are other cool places in the plaza nearby to check out.

I been here a couple times, and each time is always different. Venue: It's very small. From the seating space to the actual seats, it is supposed to be like desks and chairs "Class" 302. There is not enough room to stretch your arms much because you will probably punch someone's face next to you or behind you. Food: I like to think this is the OG Milky Shaved Ice - before they opened up niche places like Snow Station or Snow Monster in the OC. I had the shaved ice (6.50) about a few years back with my best friend and it was like a party. In my mouth. The condense milk hiked up the sweetness, but oh my goodness. Just so good altogether. Last night we ordered the "Original Shaved Ice" which allows you to get 5 toppings. The toppings included like grass jelly or rice cake, but not fruits or mochi. Katie and I ordered green-tea shaved ice with rice cake, almond pudding, grass jelly, condense milk and something else - I forgot. But it was good. At first it didn't look like there was any toppings, but they're all placed in the middle of the shaved ice. Inside! Pretty cool. Service: He seem baffled and rushed. It wasn't busy, like I've seen it before, but he was mixing up my receipts when I had to pay. Last time I had a horrible experience (which I will not write about), where the woman expected a tip when the service was meh. So because of that I was discrouaged to go again last night. Verdict: I'd only go if I really want the shave ice.

Just got out from this place like 10 mins ago after the lady (worker) yelled(ish) at us. We got #19 and there were 2 parties ahead of us. We waited outside untill the Chinese lady opened the door, asked us if we are the party of 2 (but she didnt say the queue number) and took us to the table after we told her that we are the party of 2. After we ordered the food, she suddenly came to us and said "You're number 19, not 17" (she said it super loud that resulted in everyone in the restaurant looking at us). Her act was really rude and very unprofessional. The way she said was that IT WASN'T HER FAULT CALLING US IN WITHOUT ASKING FOR THE QUEUE NUMBER AND THAT IT WAS ALL MY FAULT! This place used to be my favorite place to hangout with my friends, but WELL... not anymore

This Class 302 feels like a beaten up bus station from the 50s. Ok---Class 302 started out strong..some years ago. Their food---always been consistent. But what happened years later-- no idea. Its feels like its squeezing its last ounce of energy and dragging its feet through the sludge at this point. Fast forward 2012-- The food-- still good. The place---not good at all and its showing. They just simply have to tidy up the place, it has become unsanitary and beaten up. Mind you---I have no problem with simple undecorated places coz this is usually where the best food is at--- But this place didn't start out to be that way--it was a rather themed, deliberately so, eatery that got everyone's attention and captured our imagination with its simple well done cuisine. Deliberate it was and deliberate it should be. Come on, 302, you owe us that much! If 302 in Irvine can do it, you can too coz you were the godfather of 302's in Southern California. Let's get it rolling again!

I love this place. I always try to go every month to get my monthly dose of shaved snow.. Hehehe. :) the place is of course kinda small so if you're claustrophobic, this place might not be the best for you.. But the food is amazing! I live for my sweet tooth & fruits so this is the best place if you're into that!

I went there yesterday with my friend and the food was alright. I really don't know what all the hype over this place is about but they have terrible service. I haven't seen my friend in over a year so we had a lot to talk about. We both ordered a bunch of food and had drinks and we ate and talked. But for some reason, the waitress walked over and went like "Do you guys want to order shaved ice now?" When our food wasn't even half done. So we were like "uhhh ... I guess." After we got our shaved ice, she just stood there and STARED at us. Like wth, I'M SORRY ... IS THERE A TIME LIMIT FOR EACH CUSTOMER?! I'm sorry but I picked your restaurant to meet up with an old friend to eat and chat ... and I did not expect to get stared at or GET THROWN OUT. If you don't have enough tables, THEN GET A BIGGER STORE. Because it is RIDICULOUS that we couldn't finish our food, because we were rushed to get a shaved ice then we couldn't finish our shaved ice cause she just stood there and stared at us with that "get out already" look on her damn face. It's sad because we had to feel bad and leave our food and go out of our way to find another place to go at to eat and talk. If they're going to do that, then might as well put up a sign on the door saying "LIMITED TABLES: JUST BUY YOUR FOOD AND GO." If I'm not able to just sit, eat, and relax with my friend ... then why the hell am I even paying to eat at your restaurant for. I just wanted to talk to my old friend, eat, and actually be able to FINISH and ENJOY my food without being rushed and stared at. IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK FOR. I was willing to pay for overpriced food ... I expected to at least get to finish it. I am never going there again, and I will tell EVERYONE I know about how terrible this place is. I've never hated a restaurant so much.

This place is just straight up cool- decorated like a classroom out of Taiwan. It's small but cozy and their shaved ice is the best in town. That's really all I go there for.

Only reviewing the shaved snow because it's the only thing I've tried here. Oh my goodness. Delicious heavenly amazing dessert perfect for any day. One shaved snow can be shared among maybe 4 people, but once me and my friend finished an entire one... Just the two of us. It's that good. HOWEVER, the service sucks. If you sit outside they pretty much ignore you and take forever to get to you no matter how many times you signal or knock on the glass window. If you come with a large group, they INCLUDE tip in the price, which sucks because we wanted to leave no tip at all when the service was bad. Oh and they can barely speak English. If you sit inside, there's flies everywhere. It's like fly heaven. If you like bugs and want to enjoy a nice lunch with flies, I recommend sitting inside here. LOL. But, the shaved snow is so good that I can look over all the badness.

shaved ice! snow ice! Love class302! But the service is just so so, might be because they are really busy, but hey please pay more attention on us, not only when we ready to pay! Their lunch box is cute and tasty, others are just fine.

Cute concept. This place did a great job making me feel like I was in the 6th grade and back in Taiwan again. Class 302 milk tea - not bad but didn't live up to it's hype. I would get it again but not go out of the way for it. Pork intestine vermicelli. Super yum! One of my favorite Taiwanese dishes and they totally nailed it. I would come back again and again just for this. My brother ordered some sort of bento. I remember taking a bite and thinking it was tasty. What really stood out to me was the presentation, it came in those little metal stackable lunch containers. LEGIT. Where else can you even buy those aside from Asia? Shaved snow - I'm a bit spoiled after having some amazing shaved snow in Hawaii but they had a good selection of toppings, flavors, and decent portion sizes. It's worth trying at least once.

Cons: long wait, small place, crowded, pricey about $9.00 per shave ice and $.75 per topping which is pretty expensive, smells bad because of the smell of stinky tofu (just not my thing), parking sucks, cash only Pros: fast service, pretty ok shaved ice but certainly not worth the hype.

Mmmmm perfect dessert for winter, I mean summer, doesn't really matter what time of the year it is, I'll still come here. This place is known for their shaved snow so that's that you should get! Strawberry or mango or both is what I enjoy the most. Sometimes the fruit will not be perfect but then again this place is Asian and it might not be in season. Food is not bad too. I like their deep fried tofu with sauce. Their beef noodle soup isn't bad too. Wonton soup was nice too. Service is whatever. Hit or miss. You might end up asking for some sticks for your snacks and end up with chopsticks instead or ask for water maybe 2-3 times? Class 302 is usually packed so expect a wait, and a longer one if you want to sit inside so the trick is to go get your beeper and go dick around or get boba somewhere else and then come back til you're seated. It's busy and if you pay attention to the stuff such as the tables inside and out, its somewhat sticky or dirty. They should give everything a thorough cleaning soon or eventually -_-

Summary: 3 stars for tasty regular and green tea snow, really average Taiwanese food, and long wait times. Gave my review an update on 09/07/14. ------ I used to visit 302 primarily for shaved snow, but not so much anymore. On the day of this review, the wait for an inside table for four wasn't long since it was a weekday at 4pm. - Interior: Seating is limited inside this small space, which is designed to look like a classroom. There are some outside seats which are better for parties greater than four. Much of the decor and tableware that the food is served (metal lunch boxes, tin can cups) in harkens back to the old Taiwanese generation's daily life. - Service: standard for Asians, not much else to say. The wait time is long due to small restaurant space. Usually they give you remote pager that vibrates when your party is up. When you get the check, they stick it in a cup onto your table. What we got: We shared two bowls of snow and ended up splitting $4 per person after tax and tip; it's about $6 for a large bowl of snow. In general, the texture of the snow is light and fluffy. - Mango shaved snow. Comes with mochi rice cake, chunks of mango, and mango-flavored snow on top and bottom; condensed milk goes on top. The amount of toppings is enough, though I really can't eat this anymore after experiencing real mango snow in Taiwan. First off, 302's mangoes always tasted canned, never fresh. Even worse, the canned mangoes were way too overripe and had an acidic, alcohol-like flavor today. Next, I started noticing how powdery and artificial the mango flavored snow tastes. - Old shaved snow(?)--the name on the menu was something like that. It's the original milky shaved snow + 5 toppings of your choice. They put the toppings on the bottom to prevent them from falling out. We got almond pudding, egg pudding, boba, mochi, and condensed milk. The toppings had good flavor and texture; the puddings were smooth and strongly flavored while the boba was chewy and had brown sugar sauce. I enjoyed the original milk flavor more than the mango snow. - We didn't order it this time, but I also like the green tea snow with red bean. It comes with condensed milk on top, but I'm not sure if there's also mochi. The matcha flavor is strong and not too sweet. Other food I've tried: - Calamari appetizer. Surprisingly good. If I recall correctly, the light batter was the rice puff kind. - Taiwanese chicken roll. Crispy and good. - Taiwanese sausage. Served cut up on a plate with thin slices of garlic. Sausage was sweet and enhanced well by the garlic. - Minced pork rice. Came with soy braised egg (can't remember if half or whole). I was PISSED when I opened the lunch box and saw pork sung taking up space in it because it seemed like blatant way of using cheap filler to cut costs on a dish that's already supposed to be cheap. It was also too salty for me, but the flavor was decent. - Clam soup. Clear, gingery broth with some clams in it. Unremarkable, but okay. - Boba milk tea and matcha milk tea. Both were pretty good, but I wouldn't specifically go there for drinks.

Great way to cool down. Was introduce to the one in Irvine, it was awesome and therefore I had to come back this hidden gem. Inside a plaza on the left hand side, very small location, wait time is long but it's all worth it. Shaved snow with caramel pudding and a side of boba. What a nice way to cool down on a hot day! Chicken basil, was a OK, I will stick to the desserts!

I love this place, I always come by here when I go to rowland heights. It probably is one of the best boba and shaved snow places. The service kind of sucks and sometimes you have to wait for over 20 minutes just to get a crammed seat. Overall the food service is generally fast and it's absolutely delicious.

I LOVE their snow. They have one of the best snow desserts! I only go there for their snow so I've never tried any of the other items on their menu. I really want to give them 5 stars, but the reason that it's only 4 is because they require you to pay at least $3 per person. So you can't just order something and share with everyone. Also, the portion for the snow dessert used to be pretty big. We were able to share it between at least 4 people! Now it's pretty small that 2 people can finish it. Not like it matters that much anyways since you have to order more food to make the $3 min per person. Food: GREAT snow dessert! Would definitely keep going back just because of that. I feel that the number of toppings that are offered are very standard. I can't see you asking for anything more than 3-4. Any more than that is just too much. Service: Pretty standard. We didn't really need anything from them so after they delivered the food we didn't have to interact with them anymore. Parking: There's a big parking lot so you don't really have to worry about it, but since it's in a big plaza it's kind of hard to find parking sometimes. Wait-time: They have really long lines during the summer. There were even times when we called in to make sure they have snow, but they the time we got there they ran out. It can be pretty disappointing. There were even times when we waited for a while already to only be told they ran out too. It's kind of a risk you have to take going there since you might not get to eat the snow dessert.

I'm not the biggest fan of their entrees and snacks, but their dessert is worth coming for. I took one star off just because their interior is always very cramped and on weekends the place can get too crowded. A fun place to check out with friends, but probably not worth the long waits on weekend evenings.

Service is terrible & workers are rude af. We paid almost $50 just for desserts and we couldn't even eat OUTSIDE. Obviously we would like to eat our desserts there because we don't want it to melt on the way back up to victorville, so we sat outside and started to eat our desserts. Might I add that we also had my 3yr old niece with us, & my pregnant sister in law, the least they could've done was let us eat our desserts outside, since inside has nowhere to sit for large parties. Server came out and said seating is for dine in only.. Seriously? We order a shit load of desserts and we can't even eat there? Regardless if it was take out that we ordered? Our first and last time going to this weak ass spot. Mango shaved ice tasted nothing like mango, & mochi was nasty AF.
